The fact that I knew the game was over and it was getting late, made me think "I'll go ahead and concede and take the loss" but as you said, when I went to the menu there was no option there. So I ended up quitting the game and taking the DNF. It's silly why they won't give you that option any time.

I know the reason they don't is they think it'll encourage folks to quit more if they can quit anytime but it's not going to really make a difference in my opinion. I know most people don't want to play against the CPU but when someone concedes they should just be able to automatically take the win if they desire and finish the game.

However, with all of this being said, I think it's good to reward people who do finish. And giving them coins is a good way of doing that. If you're in a game that's 63-0 or a game like you describe above, or like I described, then it won't make any difference at all, but if I'm in a game where I'm only down 28-7 in a normal situation in the third and I may be tempted to concede, the fact that if I just play one more quarter and stick it out and get those coins may influence me too. And who knows, in doing so maybe some strange things will happen and I'll come back in the game.

But if not at least I get rewarded at the end for sticking around and playing. As it is now there is absolutely zero reason, other than your record of DNF, to avoid pulling the plug and that has got to change. This is a good start.
Still not feeling this feature being conditional because what you described doesnt address the problem of most intentional DNFs,it just exploits it for EAs' potential monetary gain,IMO.

In this scenario, your sticking around to play a game so you can get coins.Coins that you can then use to scout other players. The main reason people have said they want to scout players is to see what type of player they are. That way, they can better identify cheesers, glitchers and everything in between. This is the main cause of intentional DNFs and more games not being played, the mystery of an opponents playstyle. If their goal is really to have less intentional DNFs like you say, they should be revealing all gamers' playstyles by giving gamers this feature to use unconditionally, unlimited, pregame and in-game.Instead,they are taking gamers frustrations and warranted caution concerning online games and allegedly trying to use that as an incentive for gamers to finish games.

You and EA may think "that's a good start" but this seems like attempted consumer manipulation for potential EA profit,IMO.Profit gained from either coins being directly purchased or more online advertising dollars for increased online numbers from people trying to earn them.

I had to literally, laugh out loud, when I read,"You're earning these coins by playing 'Madden' online, so this isn't a money-grab for us. This is about building up your online skills. We're trying to provide a competitive advantage and we're presenting it to you in a way that's authentic to the sport of football.".Just like in real life where the Redskins have to finish their entire game against the Cowboys before they can have game film on the Giants huh?LOL

Im being silly right here,I know they mean the authenticity of scouting your opponent and using it in-game but the notion of these online coins not being about money for EA is even more silly,IMO.The crazy thing is,if they implemented the feature like I described, the numbers of gamers that play and complete online games would undoubtedly increase,IMO.Therefore still increasing Maddens'/EAs' potential online advertising revenue.

Alot of us are optimistic about Madden 11 but sometimes it seems that EAs' marketing dept thinks Madden gamers are just gulliable gophers,IMO.I can only speak for me but in this case, they are mistaken.LOL

However, marketing may yet get my $60 and the last laugh if NFLN or some other real network presentation is not in Madden 11.I believe that hook, line and sinker because they havent marketed it yet!LOL

(Somewhere Bgamers' head is shaking when it should be thinking of baking!LOL)
