AFC West is messed up. the Chargers boast a better record than last year and drop 4 overall points? What!? sure we lost LT and Cromartie but they weren't the main focus of offense or defense. KC is rated a little high but it doesnt matter. i think the Raiders should be up a point or 2 and denver also.

Sorry but the Colts are alot better than the Ravens. It's not even a close measure. The Ravens have a defense thats as old as the stone age, a WR core that is mediocre at best, and a QB that still hasn't proved he can focus, maintain, and win games. I wouldn't even call Flacco a leader yet.

The only thing the Ravens have going for them is their RB core. But they get a 90? An 85 would have been generous.
Ahaha, yeah, the "stone age" defense that ranked 3rd in the NFL, a defensive line that shut down Freeney and Mathis and 2 WRs on the rosters that are constantly reliable for 70 catches, 1000 yards and 5tds and a QB who increased his rookie year stats by 600 yards and 7 TDs with only 2 people to throw to now has a ton of guys to throw to.

5 TD's from WR's impresses you? And I didn't say the Ravens were horrible...I just don't think they are a 90 rated team, and I definately don't think the Colts are only 1 point better. They are way better.

5 is average. I said GUARANTEED. There's not many recievers in the NFL that you can always rely on for 70 catches, 1000 yards and atleast 5 TDs. Ravens have 2.

And the Colts OFFENSE is better if not for Peyton alone, the defense is not. Colts had the 18th ranked defense in the league and even ranked 24th in rush defense. Now, if the Colts had a top 5 defense THEN they'd be alot higher.

colts had some injuries but the still wouldn't of been top 5 ... even tho they should be more then 1 point higher ..

If we are talking about last year you are correct the Colts were a way better team on Paper and head to head although we played them tough both times. I think the way the ratings work is how the teams improved. Adding Boldin to the mix shot the Ravens offense through the roof. I'm sure he will at least be a 92 overall and Ray Rice will fall somewhere in the range between 91-94 overall. LeRon McClain will most likely be around a 92 overall and Offensive Tackles Micheal Oher and Jared Gaither will both probably be around 86/87 overall. That already is a stellar offense without even talking about Todd Heap who will at least be an 85 overall, Ben Grubbs at about 91 overall (was 92 last season). Back up runner Willis McGahee at around 84/85 overall and I can see how this team is rated where it is and who knows where Flacco will be. He can be an 85 and just based on the other players the rating is easily warranted. Haven't even mentioned Derrick Mason, Donte Stallworth. Might not like it, but I think if anyone is objective about it they can see it based on individual ratings. That's not to say with everyone they have the Ravens will be that good this year. But right now EA has to go with what's on paper and on paper combined with how they rate players individually, it's pretty tough to not have the team up there.

Defensively it's easy. Lewis, Reed, Ngata are 90 + and Suggs is hovering around that area. Then with what they've added via the draft (Cody and Kindle and my favorite Arthur Jones - although he will be rated low) and FA's (Redding) it's easy to see how the team would be there based on individual player ratings. Too many 90 + players or players close to that range. And the depth is going to be ridiculous. By far the weakest area on the team will be CB, but with that front 7 it shouldn't be evident.

I think the thing people get bent out of shape with is they think all of these numbers will translate to dominant team. Relax, it's Madden. The Raiders can be 61 overall and still be better than the 90 overall Ravens in Madden. That's just how Madden works. As one poster has asked, is this cosmetic? Every year up until now it has been and locomotion is going to have to have a huge effect for that to change.

I know you don't watch all the Bolts game so I'm just letting you know about the Titans and Browns games (2/7 points, so not everything). Also had to correct your comment about the Chiefs. When you are up by more than three touchdowns, or up by multiple touchdowns against a crappy team, you usually don't play your starters in the 4th quarter. Also had to correct you about the Redskins game.

Browns at a 70 seems fair to me. I think Detroit got a little low.
                            Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

I never cared for the team ratings. honestly it doesnt even make a difference IMO. player ratings is the main focus for me. the Jets rating is a bit high. when has a team ever benefited from bringing in a bunch of aged and overpaid/rated players? teams that build through the draft are the most successful like the Colts, Patriots, Steelers and Giants.
