Re: E3 announcement and career mode update
LMAO
Not surprising at all.
That should be EA's motto for Madden..."There's always next year"
Things Ive heard in the past...
"NEXT YEAR...we will work on blocking"
"NEXT YEAR...we will work on presentation"
"NEXT YEAR...we will work on progression"
I wont go through them all since you get the idea, but yes, they have said in the past they would improve on franchise, and this was years ago.
I mean, lets just say they do work on franchise mode for next year? Does the crappy blocking remain? Is situational AI ignored? Special teams? The list goes on and on.
I think people just need to accept the fact that this game will never be any better and we may never get a truly great football sim until EA loses the license.
And no, Im not a *****, Ive just realized after all this that EA either doesnt know how to make a great football game or simply dont care to. Probably both.
My biggest question is, what the hell did they do this development cycle? The game certainly doesnt seem like it got any better gameplay wise. In fact, based on videos, it actually looks worse. Ill reserve judgment for when I actually play it, but seriously, aside from roster updates and maybe Gus Johnson, what makes this game any different from 2010?
Hell, they seemingly undid their golden goose from 2010 (Pro Tak), and while locomotion may help, its not going to suddenly make the game much better to play. The players still move like robots and the AI and blocking is still laughably bad.
If that "Next Year" slogan doesnt catch on, maybe they can go with the motto, "One step forward, two steps back"Comment

Re: E3 announcement and career mode update
I love how a lot of you guys have so much faith in every word Tiburon tells us. Just because they're telling us that Madden 12 will be the year of Franchise doesn't mean it will be what we expect of it. It also doesn't mean that we shouldn't be disappointed about having to wait another year to see some REAL upgrades to our favorite game mode.
Like I mentioned earlier, I'm highly disappointed in the news because Franchise Mode pretty much is the ONLY reason why I play Madden. I'm not an online competitive player when it comes to sports games. I like to kick back and enjoy my offline experience. Sure they're "fixing" stats etc..but the game mode as a whole is extremely boring. Nothing motivates me to want to come back after more than 2 full seasons.
I wish I could say that I'm optimistic that Madden 12 will be a great year for Franchise, but I've officially lost all faith in EA Tiburon. And for the first time ever, I honestly will not purchase the game. Will I play it? Sure, but I will not purchase it. At this point, I'm just going to observe from the sideline how the series develops. I will no longer put my hopes up. And I DEFINITELY no longer buy into the hype.
I'm looking forward to NCAA and Fifa 11 this year for my sports game fixes. Cheers."I'll die before I lose, cuz I was born to win."- Drake

YES.
Anyone saying "Why dont you pitch them your ideas then", is either a fanboy trying to protect Madden or dont have enough facts to even comment on the matter.
Suggestions and "pitches" have been made for years, and many have been acknowledged by EA, so there is no way to say they havent been seeing them.Comment

If the 3-4 works and stats are fixed this year will be a nice place holder until next year.Comment

Re: E3 announcement and career mode update
and honestly....sports games in general just don't seem to offer much from year to year anymore
i took a year off from MLB the show between 08 and 09....but picked up '10....and won't be picking up 11
i may purchase madden 11...but to me, M10 will suffice this yearBummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.Comment
