Re: Madden NFL 11 Blog: E3 Feature Announcement and Career Modes Update
Am shocked, this will be the first year in 15 odd years that I won't be getting Madden. The worst thing is the a Saints player finally gets on the front cover and I don't get it. I guess M12 better be amazing franchise wiseComment

If they make SuperStar anywhere close to what Road to the Show is, SS would hands down be my favorite mode.Comment

Re: E3 announcement and career mode update
I agree completely Pacman. It's easy to respect upfront honesty, just like it's easy to despise out right dishonesty. Now, if they can get Peter Moore to actually step up and say 'yes, we lobbied the NFL for the exclusive license, and we realize our responsibility to the fans', instead of lying about it, saying the NFL wanted it, after it's been reported on multiple websites that EA did in fact lobby for it, EA can being working from an honest / straight forward perspective with fans. They never do themselves favors by over hyping, lying, or avoiding. We might not always like the news, but at least we can respect them for it, versus be happy with the news, finding out later it's bunk and that EA misled us. It's a completely different paradigm and a change with the company, one that's been a long time coming. If they get Peter Moore on the record apologizing for his previous statements, then I might actually be able to respect him/EA again. This is actually good news. For one they are being straight w/ the community. Also they are taking a couple of cycles to get important things implemented and not rushing things into this year.
Its good to see the new direction Madden is taking, this reassembled team might actually be able to get Madden ranked up there with other leading titles...And while i understand the concern of those who are disappointed, its better this way--to me anyway--even though we want it all right now.Comment

Hahaha! This guy is out of his mind. All of you guys here are FULL OF CRAP!!!...All of you are saying that "I am not gonna buy the game this year, I am not gonna buy it."
And then as soon as the release date comes up, you are rushing to the store to buy your copy of the game!
You guys are nothing but a bunch of Key Board Gangsters. All talk and no action.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Blog: E3 Feature Announcement and Career Modes Update
I keep telling myself that it's just a game and it's not that big of deal...but I read this news hours ago and I still haven't gotten over the immense level of disappointment I'm feeling.
This information ruined my entire day...literally. I went back to the office to work on a project, took a drive to the beach, and kissed my wife on the forehead...and I still can't shake this sinking feeling in my stomach.
The only reason I decided to post this is because I'm hoping that by getting this off my chest and putting it out there, I'll start to feel better...

Thanks Val...lol, good luck w/ that....I agree completely Pacman. It's easy to respect upfront honesty, just like it's easy to despise out right dishonesty. EA has lost a ton of respect on the Madden front, but also in the trust/believe area dealing with majority of their games. While the Madden devs are at least appearing to try, the EA leadership has blown it too many times with the terrible quality of several released games, the patty cake approach to "developing" games, and the approach to selling these "games" (so don't even qualify or warrant $60, but advertising will sell almost anything). This is actually a good sign from the Tiburon team, at least to me...though people have a right to be upset, they really shouldn't be, high quality games don't happen overnight, patience guys, remember what this gen started with?? We gotta get out of the hole first, and now it seems they have the right guys in the right places.
btw...What do you mean, "You people"???Last edited by Pacman83; 06-11-2010, 09:21 PM.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Blog: E3 Feature Announcement and Career Modes Update
EA just put in superbowl history on all the players that has already won it and the year ,And make sure it shows up in every players award history when other players and teams win the superbowl. So make it say 2011 superbowl champion and 2012 superbowl champion. have it say this in each players award history through out our whole fran-mode and we can wait it out for MADDEN 12

Re: Madden NFL 11 Blog: E3 Feature Announcement and Career Modes Update
I look forward to the next cycle of consoles, so that I can save my money on Madden for 3-4 years until each piece is built from the ground up properly.
As for this year....a resounding meh. I've got an August birthday, I'm going to end up with the game regardless. I was hoping this was the year for Head Coach's full implementation into Madden, but apparently that's for next year.
Although if the HC contract & draft system is implemented as the "minor changes" this year, I might be OK with it after all.Comment

How bout quoting the part I wrote about the limited code and engine? There's your foundation of the game, period. At least NHL 11 and NBA Elite 11 will have new engines. Who knows why they weren't able to get it into Madden 11 but I could bet they'll have it in Madden 12 and even more improved than what's going to be in NHL/Elite 11.They have a track record, a history. Not complaining, just commenting on there track record. They have had over a half decade and the game still isn't where it was over a half decade ago. That's shameful.
Working year to year in Layers? They're working on the SAME things they were working on A HALF A DECADE AGO. What are you talking about?
It's not time, it's resources. They aren't applying enough resources to add these things. A team can be working on offline/online franchise, while another team works on game play.
They had this in the game 6 YEARS AGO.
That's not complaining. That's just saying it like it is.
I've been in software dev. for over 30 years.
I'll let you all continue to get all bent out of shape. Some of us can see more than just we, as individuals, may personally want and can be more even keel then some of you can't and are just never satisfied.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment

Hey guys, yeah this sucks...I'm not going to deny that. Looking at the positives though (potentially) I'd rather have 1 great game in NCAA than 2 mediocre football games like we've had every year since I can remember.
Of course this is all contingent on NCAA actually being good...Comment
