The top five players from your team... What should their rating be?

Pick five players from your team, whether it be offense or defense, and tell me what you think their rating in NCAA 2011 should be. Then, pick one incoming freshman and rate him as well. Try to keep in mind that EA has said that the game will be different this year in respect to high (95+) ratings. Try to give a little explanation if you want.

    I'll start:

    Washington

QB - Jake Locker - 92 overall. One of the top five best rated QB's in the game. Great speed, cannon arm, but does struggle with accuracy at times. No one in college football has more hype - or expectations than Locker. He has some weapons now, so if he struggles, people might begin to question if he's as good as advertised. Other QB's are more polished, so there should be a few higher rated QB's in the game, but Locker is up there.

HB - Chris Polk - 87 overall. Amassed over 1,100 yards and 8 TD's last year as a freshman. Good, but not blazing speed. Powerful runner. Hard to bring down.

WR - Jermaine Kearse - 88 overall. Garnering some attention as a preseason Pac-10 first team pick this year. Had over 800 yards last year and is one of the best deep threats in the Pac-10.

LB - Mason Foster - 89 overall. The best defensive player on a team that gives up a lot of yards, but Foster has played very well the past two seasons. He was overshadowed by Donald Butler, but the kid can play and he'll be the leader on a defense that has to step up if the Huskies want to make a bowl game.

CB - Desmond Trufant - 84 overall. Younger brother of Seahawk Marcus Trufant had a damn good true freshman season last year for the Dawgs. Had surprisingly good cover skills. Will only get better.

    Incoming Freshman:

    Nick Montana, QB
. Overall rating - 72 We all know the name... But word is Nick can actually play. Has a bit of a small frame and needs to get stronger, but his arm strength is better than advertised. He was a 4* recruit out of California and had a lot of schools wanting him. Let's see if he can make his own name.

I love that you actually used toned down ratings, it appears that everyone has Locker at a 99 though >_<

Also a 4 star QB with the last name Montana only being a 72.

If I had to guess for RU.

    WR Mo Sanu 87 Overall
    SS Joe Lefeged 86 Overall
    QB Tom Savage 85 Overall
    DT Scott Vallone 84 Overall
    HB Joe Martinek 83 Overall

I know this isnt what you wanted but im gonna go off of the old way to rate players, so no toned down player ratings haha
              Texas Tech:
              Baron Batch: 93
Alex Torres: 90 (hopefully hes in the 90s somewhere)
Brian Duncan: If he was still a MLB:92 but since he moved to OLB: maybe an 89?
              Steven Sheffield/Taylor Potts:88-89
              Colby Whitlock:88
              Freshman-Scotty Young:81-83
              6+5=7
              Harrell+Crabtree=Touchdown

              Taylor Potts Gang or Die

Re: The top five players from your team... What should their rating be?

Fresno State - Based on NCAA style ratings

                Andrew Jackson OL 90

                Chris Carter DE 88

                Devon Wylie WR 87 - Ran a 4.2 40 time.

                Ryan Colburn WR 85

                Ben Jacobs WR 84

Fresno State had 8 guys 84+ last year so hopefully I'm underrating a few players. The whole O-Line could be over 80. And our kicker will probably be in the top 5, but thats no fun.

                  Washington State

                  Reid Forrest (P)- 89ovr

                  Travis Long (DE)- 86ovr

                  Brandon Rankin (DT)- 84ovr

                  Gino Simone (WR)- 83ovr

                  Jeff Tuel (QB)- 79ovr

Its sad that our punter is our best player on the team

I based these off of a stretched out new rating style they are doing this year.

                        Louisville

RB Victor Anderson - 89 overall - Despite being injured for the last half of his Sophomore year VA is one of the best RBs in the Big East, and he's shown that he can be a game changer over the last 2 years. With Strong at the helm Vic won't be running up the middle without a TE or FB with 8 in the box any longer.

WR Doug Beaumont - 84 overall - Possibly the 'Ville's most talented athlete outside of Victor Anderson, but a game changer he is not. While he is a good WR, and had good change of direction, he doesn't have top notch speed. Still, he is Louisville's most experienced WR, and he should see the end zone plenty under Coach Strong.

C Mario Benavides - 85 overall - The heir apparent to Eric Wood heading into last season, and he's done a marvelous job with the lack of coaching he's received until this year. Being good despite Steve Kragthorpe is one hell of an accomplishment. Benavides will shine brightly at the C position again this year.

CB Johnny Patrick - 90 overall - A lot has been expected of Patrick this year as he will have been a 4 year starter after the 2010 season. He has shown flashes of brilliance, and quite possibly have the skills to lock down many WRs one vs one for a time. The problem has been the pass rush for the last 3 years. The guy has spent 3 long years defending passes with one of the FBS's worst pass rushes. Charlie Strong should fix that with blitzes and good coaching and allow Patrick to shine.

OLBs Dexter Heyman/Brandon Heath - 82 overall - Probably the only two players outside of Johnny Patrick on defense that can for sure make an impact. Heyman looked great as a Freshman against UK in 2008, but of course that didn't please Kragthorpe, and he was yanked to the side lines for almost two seasons, and was part of a failed experiment to move to DE where he was under-sized and never used. Thanks Kragthorpe. Back at his natural position Heyman is probably the fastest LBer we have sideline to sideline. Brandon Heath could have a spectacular year on the other end and finally live up to his recruitment rating.

                        Honorable Mentions:

SS Terence Semien - ??? - His season was cut abruptly short with a lacerated Kidney last year after the UK game. During his short time on the field Semien proved he could bring the pain against the offense both through the air and on the ground. He could be Louisville's next young star, and Strong should let him shine.

K Chris Philpot - ??? - Philpot came to the Cards his Freshman year with one of the strongest legs in the entire recruiting class, constantly pinning the ball back deep in the end zone in high school. Steve Kragthorpe proved once again that he could screw up anything, and Philpot struggled massively his first year, and rarely got the ball into endzone, let alone close to it on kick offs. His kicking was even worse, he missed 2 xp attempts, and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn on FG attempts. His 2nd year Kragthorpe proved that he coudln't recognize talent or improvement. Chris didn't get any chances until Kragthorpe was forced to use him, and he went 5/5 on FG attempts, an amazingly high number of attempts considering Louisville's anemic offense who often struggled to get into FG range, and blundered on 4th down and past the 35 almost on queue. Philpot has had a fantastic spring, and his leg is once again booming and accurate. In the last practice before the Spring Game Philpot boomed in 6/6 FGs, 2 from beyond 30, 2 from beyond 40, 1 from beyond 50, and one from 57, all were attempted in high wind, and in game time situations.
