The Chicago Blackhawks regardless of their Cup victory are now the #1 franchise in the NHL. They are likable, good, fast and very young....you might as well get used to this because they should be the league's focal point for a long time.

Same could be said for Kings in a year or two

I love the cover. However it is very surprising that they went with a Blackhawk 2 years in a row. Though, deservedly so.

And nobody has touched on the actual artwork of the cover. Last year was the first year they went with the "brushed" look, and now this year, they've really went from an actual photo of the player to a photo turned into a drawing of a photo. Last year, the picture of Kane looked semi-drawn, but this year it's almost entirely. Very different, but I love it.

Edit- The closer I look at it, the more I realize that it's just about the same as last year. But still, I like it.

It must be so awesome to be a Hawks fan right now.

someone said what they might be doing is regional covers for markets. Like Miller in the east or the buffalo area, while toews midwest chicago etc. To me it sounds like a possibility but highly unlikely

With the faceoffs and new checking improvements I guess it made sense to go with a Center. Why not get the top one off of the champs. Besides the game sold like hot cakes with a drunk mullet wearing hooligan that beats up taxi drivers on the front cover. Toews from what I've seen doesn't carry himself like a scumbag off the ice so they shouldn't have that problem this year.

Come on dude your gonna talk about scumbag when the Flyers fans boo Towes when he is receiving the Conny? Everybody said how classless Philly was for that. Sorry but those fans are the scumbags. Besides that "drunk mullet wearing hooligan" scored the game winner & ended the longest drought in the nhl.
Besides EA is just letting you know who's gonna win in again just like they did last year with Kane . Unlike the Madden curse, ea's nhl is the good luck charm. The Hawks have the greatest sweaters, the greatest team this year & they are one of the original 6. LET'S GO HAWKS!

Anways, I think it's odd that they'd put a Hawk on the cover 2 years in a row. (Even if they are "likable, good, fast and very young.") I'd prefer to see someone unexpected on the cover like Drew Doughty.

Well actually no that is what everybody in sports say. That the Hawks have the best sweaters. Not to say other teams don't have cool ones also. I like the Boston ones & the Sharks to name a few, but it's something about the crest that people love. It was voted best logo in hockey just the the Chicago Wolves were voted the best ahl logo. Btw thanks for agreeing with the other stuff.

Kane is a stuck up jerk. It is not his fault, it is always having his *** kissed when growing up. Most super star are jerks though. Not all, but a lot are. It is what it is. They have this self entitlement feeling. Hockey is a little bit better, but Kane is a just a spoil little baby. He will mature and grow up, but right now he is living the life. I have no problem with Toews on it, though I was hoping for a goalie. The Goalies need some love in this game. Miller would have been perfect for that in my opinion.

Well all I can say is have you met him? Cause if you haven't then its kinda rude to stereotype him for 1 incident which he even admitted at the rally that he won't do again. He made some mistake & yeah he's young but hockey players are actually the nicest of all the sports. Now I know this cause I have met a few in my time & they were class acts. I would even think Pronger would be nice if you don't provoke him. Like the saying goes you get treated the way you treat people. Kane said he has learned from his mistake. I would think most people who met him probable had a good experience, but I don't know that for sure.
