Re: Confrence Shifts
I want to know about this as well. I guess it's possible, but the game is probably ready for pressing though. The fallout will probably have to be corrected in next years edition. -
Re: Confrence Shifts
I dont expect the changes, mostly cause it doesnt come into effect 2011 and 2012...since it seems this will be all the changes and if i do get this game...I would move the big 10 to the big 12, the big 12 to the pac 10 and the pac 10 to the big 10Comment

Re: Confrence Shifts
In the past when doing this didn't you have to trade 1 team for another. For example if I moved Nebraska to the Big 12 to the Big 10 wouldnt you need to exchange a team already in the Big 10 like OSU or something?PSN: emark182Comment

Re: Confrence Shifts
This year it will probably be just the sme in terms of conference changes as it was last year, but expecting the ability to just move/add a team in later versions, 12 probably. Hmmm not sure how the conference dissolving/formation possibilities would work..... hmmmm this is starting to get interesting.....but we'd have to be able to make conference changes between seasons (and ADD TB teams OR switch them with schools, depending on prefrance) and maybe add a conference just by using the TB site to upload that conference's logo/name......Comment

Re: Confrence Shifts
I'm sure this won't be in the game since 1) it happened too late to make it into ncaa '11 and 2) it doesn't take effect for the 2010 season.
With the current conferences/ability to swap teams around, the closest you can get (which still won't be right) is what Card Attack said.
Move the Big Ten's 11 teams to the Big 12 and keep Nebraska there and the Big 10 is correct. Move the rest of the Big 12 teams except Colorado to the Pac 10 and the Big 12 is correct. Move the Pac 10's teams to the Big 10 and add Colorado. Like this, the Pac 10 will be 1 team short as they're missing Utah. Also, you can't get Boise St. into the MWC without moving a team out of that conference.
I'm very tempted to move teams around for my offline dynasty this year. Since we can't change the names of conferences and I know it'd bug me having teams like Kansas/Texas/Iowa St playing in the "Pac 10" and teams like USC, Arizona, Oregon playing in the "Big 10" I'll likely just swap the Big 10 and Big 12 and let Colorado stay.
Sure you could have Michigan playing Penn State for the conference championship came in Dallas, but I think I'd like this better anyway.
The tough part would be figuring out who'll be in which divisions. You can't divide it by east/west as that'd have Michigan, Ohio St. and Penn St. all in the same division (but the west would have Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska so it wouldn't be completely lopsided). If I go north/south, that'd put Nebraska, Ohio St. and Penn St. in the same division which would still be pretty lopsided. I'm sure I'll work something out.Favorite Teams:
College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
NHL: Detroit Redwings

Re: Confrence Shifts
Since the conferences are going to be "wrong" anyway, I've decided I'm just gonna cheese it up and align them however I want.
For instance, the Big 12: Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Colorado State, Penn State, Purdue, Texas A&M.
Then the SEC: Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Michigan State, Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Georgia Tech.
And so on.
I think it'll be interesting/a cool change of pace.Comment

Re: Confrence Shifts
These darn confrence changes....why didnt the confrence officials take into consideration that this would cause a problem for gamers...LOL...I am not sure how i would do this now. Maybe just mix it up, or read up on what everyone else is doing...should be interesting indeed.Since the conferences are going to be "wrong" anyway, I've decided I'm just gonna cheese it up and align them however I want.

Re: Confrence Shifts
Yeah I'm going to do what was mentioned earlier, I had already thought of this a few days ago as well so it's nice to see someone else had the same idea.
Big 10 to the Big 12.
Big 12 to the Pac 10.
Pac 10 to the Big 10.
Decided to split the Big 10 up by east/west even if that means Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan are all together. If you split up Michigan and Ohio State though, with the Big 12 scheduling format they would only meet each other 2 years out of every 4.
Now you just gotta figure what teams to replace with what teams, so that when Texas and Texas A&M are in the Pac 10, they meet up in the final week like they do in the Big 12. So you basically have to switch two rivals from one conference for two rivals in the other conference so that it works out that way.Comment

Re: Confrence Shifts
I understand that no changes are being made until the 2011 season, and conferences still haven't figured out how they are going to align in divisions and how they will do scheduling.
So I fully understand that code not being written for the retail release.
But once it is determined, that code will be worked for the '12 iteration of the game. And if there were downloadable content to make '11 dynasties realign going into the 2011 season, I'd purchase it.
I'm personally looking forward to 4 BCS conferences having championship games.Comment
