Yea its deff worth upgrading to an HD TV.
But you need to ask yourself what price range you are looking for, then figure out what you want based on that. -

Yeah, figure out how much you'd like to spend. Then save up more and spend more to get something better. I believe in the philosophy that when it comes to technology, you need to buy for the future. So spend a little extra to get a t.v. that will keep you happy for a long time and keep you up with the Joneses.
Since you're getting one for gaming, and I'm assuming sports, I'd go with a plasma as they have a higher refresh rate than lcds. Of course led'ss are the best t.v.'s out there but pretty pricey.
