I thought there was supposed to be a lot of work on the halftime show, or lack thereof.

Did I misread that last year? Or does someone have some good explanation for why there is no halftime show?

after watching these videos, these guys look like they are running on ice or speed skating, it just looks odd to me, it's like they are struggling to take that next step, or make that next move. There is no fluid movement, it looks to herky jerky to me.

Am I the only one that noticed that the RB STOPPED on the play action? He's supposed to keep running to make it look like a running play. That's going to fool no one.

Ok can someone please explain to me what the team at EA did this year? They implemented locomotion, Gameflow/Gameplan and 3v3 online team play.

Is that it? The game seems like it's basically Madden 10 with a few tweaks.

No halftime show.
Players sliding and gliding all over the place.
The flats are being abused AGAIN.

Seriously? And we are expected to pay $60 for this?

A small thing but very important presentation-wise that they fixed was the post play camera. The post play camera, whether it caught players celebrating or simply getting up and walking away, would always lock in on the ball--no matter where it was. So sometimes you'd see players walking around but only catch their thighs and shoes because the dead ball was on the turf.

Now the camera actually follows players. It's a nice, small, but important change.

I like what I'm seeing so far. I like the speed of the replays (one will be normal speed, the second will be significantly slowed down), and I like how they show you what happened on a play from multiple angles).

Love the Redskins players praying, and Gus truly sounds great. Coaches, as well, look incredible.

One thing I'd say is that I heard that Madden 11 would be implementing assistant coaches. But so far I don't see them.

I am a gameplay critic, I careless about features if they don't improve the experience...

How does locomotion improve gameplay? How do the new features improve gameplay?

Yep. Having players move in a realistic fashion doesn't improve gameplay.

The game looks good graphically as always, but I have to admit, it feels like they just added a whole bunch of nothing this year that improves the actual gameplay. Very happy to see Gus Johnson, but commentary always wears off pretty quick.

Don't know if it has a proper title, but the coach tips where they relay a message before the play seems meaningless except for people who are completely new to football.

Talk of minimal improvement to franchise/online franchise worry me, as does the Twitter account of Ian Cummings, who seems to drop hints about not being happy with the game.

Haha, I know I sound like a *****, but I've been playing Madden since '93 and I guess I'm just starting to wonder how much better can this series actually improve. I'm not one of these guys who thinks EA's lazy, I just don't know what more they can do to make this game better. It's easy to get on here and b****, but I'm sure it's hell trying to improve this game on a yearly basis.

I think we're at a point where it's time to end the yearly release of sports titles and go to a system where they release the title and constantly update it online with patches to improve the game for two to three years, while a separate team builds a new game in that same time period to push the limit again. Hell, do what you do best and charge 10-20 bucks for the really big title updates every four or five months, just make sure they are worth it.

I don't get who this person is supposed to be talking too. Is it the offensvie coordinator talking to the qb? Does Peyton Manning really need to know that he is in shotgun now so he will have some more time to look for an open wr? I just don't get why this is in the game and why time was spent on it instead of redoing offline franchise.

(actually I do get it, and it has to do with trying to sell more copies and get new people to buy the game.)

I am glad that we can turn it off, so no use making a huge deal about this, but it does seem very stupid.
