This is an insane comment. John Lynch was 6'2" 220 lbs.
The man made 9 pro bowls, and was All-Pro twice.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Player Ratings: Top Players at Each Position (K0ACHK)
You're acting like I'm trashing Willis and saying he sucks....all I said was the differences are so little that it certainly doesn't warrant a 3 point difference for their overall ratings....well you won't find one that cost our team a win....when you watch that primetime game between the Giants and the Panthers, Bradshaw (I believe) ran a winning or game changing TD because Beason took a really bad angle....I'm sure Panther fans remember what I'm talking about.
but yes that is one game....I haven't seen that many games with Beason, but I've seen everygame with Patrick Willis.....he is the most consistent player on our team....it is rare to see him make mistakes....its like when every you saw Jerry Rice drop a pass...it kind of sticks out....
the few times he has made mistakes is when he was asked to cover shifty RBs out of the backfield who juke back to the center of the field....other wise he can stick with them...but as a MLB covering a RB in open space, pre-pass, can be hard.......but that being said, he is one of the few players who has run down Chris Johnson, when he tried to bounce it to the outside...it was pretty incredible watching it, because for sure you thought he was going to get around and break a big play.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Player Ratings: Top Players at Each Position (K0ACHK)
You mean the Jason Peters that gave up 11.5 sacks in 13 games in 2008 and last year was graded as the worst at his position, according to Football Outsiders.
"It's a crime that Peters made the Pro Bowl in his first season with the Birds after signing a six-year, $60.657 million contract.
He led the team in penalties with 11, allowed 7 sacks and gave up four hurries. The Eagles sorely need Peters to improve his pass blocking no matter who is under center."
As far as Mikell being a top 5 SS, I'll assume you were joking.Last edited by salbowski; 06-23-2010, 03:03 PM.Comment

To the people saying Willis and Beason are even.
Watch ONE 49ers game, and you will know why he is the BEST LB IN THE NFL.

That's where your wrong. If you look at their stats Willis has enough seperation from Beason that allows him to have a 3 point higher rating.Comment

bottom line willis is an overall 99 linebacker... has been last 2 years... cant penalize him or drop him... so the only way is to move beason up..... but the 3 point difference is little.. as long as players are with 7 points of what they should be then u really shouldn argue.... if he was 88 overall then i would cry about it....Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Player Ratings: Top Players at Each Position (K0ACHK)
There are a few underated players in Madden but I agree that most players are WAY overated. Last year it was supposed to be that all the positions got lowered. But with all the updates, it is almost where it used to be. That is why I do my own ratings based off of what EA claimed would be the system starting in 2010. 85+ is a pro bowler. 80 and above is a good starter. 70's are players who are starters but could be upgraded. Nowadays, if a good player is rated 78, fans get SO pissed off about it. Like that is saying he is a back up. A 78 is a solid starter. Again, that is why I just do my own ratings.
Oh and I agree with some of you that there are WAAAYYY to many 90 and ups. Madden actually stated that an 85 and above was a pro bowl caliber guy. I didn't make that up. But now it is like you need to be a 90 and above to even be considered. It is just dumb.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Player Ratings: Top Players at Each Position (K0ACHK)
Have you watched Polite play? He is EASILY the best blocking fullback in the league, and is a monster at converting for 1st down's in short yardage. Now, put them both at HB and Weaver is far better. As a true fullback though, Polite is much better.RIP Sean Taylor. Still my idol!Comment

To people raging about speed ratings (especially Nick Collins) being low: Now, I haven't watched any of the players you're talking about, but it may be possible that with the new speed/acceleration system, they'll just have really high acceleration.Comment
