**** presentation, player models, crowd reactions, coaches. All those things you do well already. Get the ****ing gameplay right! 2K10 takes no skill to pick up and play. All you have to know is turbo, shoot and steal.

Both years while Mike Wang was gone 2K released two pieces of **** with regards to gameplay. I'm not holding any premature prejudices towards 2K11 since I haven’t seen or played it. I am however disappointed that 2K failed to produce a game that resembled BASKETBALL both years. Whatever their reasons, they better get it this time around. Their number one focus needs to be the fundamentals of basketball.

Unfortunately you can't do that in NBA 2K. Basketball says to force baseline on defence. Try that on 2K and you might as well send Adam Morrison and D.J. Mbenga to the scorer's table.

Basketball says to finish a lay-up with the hand furthest from the defence. In NBA 2K the game chooses for you.<O</O

Basketball says not to pass into heavy traffic. NBA 2K encourages you to.<O</O
            <O</O

Basketball says to runs plays to get a high percentage shots. NBA 2K says run plays if you like taking end of shot clock desperation heaves.<O</O
            <O</O

Basketball says if the ball makes contact with the hand, the ball should be deflected. NBA 2K says there are exceptions to this rule.<O</O
            <O</O

Basketball says Shaq should never shoot a 3-pointer, ever. NBA 2K's Shaq will pop the 3 if take one step back.<O</O
            <O</O

Basketball says off-ball defenders should be ready to help at any time. NBA 2K help defenders come over when LeBron is already in mid-air.<O</O

I think you get my drift; NBA 2K is nothing close to basketball.<O</O

While some of your other points may be valid.. this one is completely nonsensical and utterly rediculous. Did you reread and fully understand what you just posted with this point here?

So youre telling me Shaq should NEVER, EVER be able to shoot a 3pt shot. He's a basketball player and those shots are in the context of what a basketball player can and is allowed to shoot.

Now the probability of him making them should be 1 in 500,000, because yes he has made some. But to say he should never be able to shoot a 3 pointer?

Marc Jackson would say "Comeon Tuss, youre better than that." And no I didnt take it out of context, misquote you, or not get that point. You wrote that.

As far my Czar comment, and not to make this a comparision thread. I'll use Live 10 for an example. That game was more pick up and play than 2k10. Heck it was catered for it(pu&p) with the control scheme. Why do think people only used 1 player to reek havoc with players such as Mo Williams, Bibby, Nash, and other 3pt specialist? Not saying it couldnt happen in 2k10, but it was a bit harder to do it consistantly unlike in Live 10.

I typed what I said because you said 2k basketball lacked on some basic fundamentals. 2k has a lot of basic fundamentals that they added within the years, and those vids Czar made can show you contrast between the 2 nba gamesas far as how much of it is within each game.

<o></o>haha. By the way your telling the truth. 70 or 80 points in the paint is not a sim basketball game. it's just an arcade game with good animation. Please, just make the game right, 2k. That's all i have to say.

What's wrong with what I said? I said Shaq should never shoot a 3-pointer, i.e. the A.I. controlled Shaq shouldn't be taking 3s.

I disagree with the bolded paragraph. Live 10 more "pick up and play" than 2K10? Outrageous! All you have to do in 2K10 is turbo baseline with a star player and put up a shot over 3 defenders and it'll drop 75% of the time. Do the same thing in Live 10 and your success rate wouldn't exceed 55%.<O</O
                    <O</O

Yes Live 10 has a problem with 3-point shooters being ridiculously over-effective. Aside from that the game encourages you to play with a realistic strategy. In Live 10 it's rare to shoot 60% from the field. In 2K10 if you're shooting sub-60% you’re doing something wrong. 2K10 is not basketball. It's a match to see who can score the most points in the paint. Period.<O</O

Hmm, 2k11 is still very much a mystery. So far the other hoop game looks more fun, and most of all, new.

I think EA's somewhat revamped 1:1 controls puts pressure on 2K to come up with something just like when DNA came out, 2K suddenly comes up with their own, lesser version of it which looked like something they scrambled to put together to match EA's new feature.

The Shaq shooting 3s is a glitch that happens when you use custom rosters as well as leaving players roles on ... you wont be seeing this unless it is a shot to prevent clock from running out.

The gameplay of 2k10 is as deep as you could wish, maybe not as responsive as we would like (2k8), but you cant even compare it to any other existent basketball videogame (includding its own past versions).

Even more, the game as a whole (presentation-graphics-features-gameplay-sim engine-editability) is by far the most deep sportgame within the genre.

Thus that does not mean that it is perfect in any way (look at the wish lists) or that doesnt have flaws (as it came with an insane mutitude of glitchs with some new arising from the patches) or areas for improvements: like defense and control responsiveness.

With Wang (within the main responsables of Live10 upgrades) and the CH guys on board, we should see noticeable improvements on the responsiveness and facets we are all ineterested in. I have no doubts that 2k11 will be even more deep and complete than its past itinerations. And for the record, I also no doubts that Elite 11 will surpass Live 10.
