Did You Play Offline Franchise At All Last Year?

I keep seeing people say that there aren't a significant number of people playing offline franchise. I find that hard to believe since everyone that I know with Madden plays offline franchise exclusively. They may go online every once in a while, but the majority of the time, when they're playing Madden, they are playing offline franchise or offline head to head. So to find out what's true I posted this poll. So did you play offline franchise at all last year?

If you played one season, 2 games, 30 seasons or whatever, select yes for this poll. The fact that you tried it and didn't continue doesn't mean that you wouldn't play it. It just means that you didn't like the way it was implemented and given it's current state that's not to hard to understand. If you had the will to pick up a controller and play a complete game in franchise that is good enough to prove that if franchise was better the numbers would be consistently higher.

Also, I don't wanna hear that "OS is the minority". OS is just a small sample of what's going on in the Madden community.

I play offline franchise exclusively. The only time I bother to go online is to get the roster update at the start of the season.

Yes, I played a franchise but not for the reason you listed. I didn't dig deep into franchise at all as I don't have time for player contracts, drafts, trades, yada, yada, yada.

I'll make it easy- I'll abstain on voting.

Played it exclusively for the most part.

Of note and I know you don't want to hear this, but think about who you are popping this question to. A great many of this Madden forum are offline franchise gamers. Yes we represent a segment of the Madden community but we are a concentration of offline gamers. One should expect that the majority of us dabble in franchise.

The only reason that I buy and play Madden/NCAA is to play OFFLINE Franchise/Dynasty mode. I really think that they are using ONLINE Franchise numbers when they say it's a feature that many people aren't/didn't use last year. Like you, everyone that I know plays OFFLINE Franchise and ONLINE H2H. OFFLINE Franchise is huge... I would've played more APF2K if it had a OFFLINE Franchise mode.

like i said in another thread, how do they know people don't play offline franchise if.. well... its offline? some people don't have the adapters or coords to even go online, where do they get their statistics?

I never once went into offline franchise. I did play one year of online franchise though (and loved it even though I stunk).

For the first time ever, I did not play offline franchise at all in Madden. That is usually what I get the game for, but this year was different. With the creation of the online franchise, there is absolutely no need for me to play offline. 4 seasons in now since the game was released and pretty much the same core group of guys since the beginning. I haven't even played an entire half of football in a play-now game this year. All I play is unranked "scrims" and OF games, as well as practice mode.

RobertBrazil - They don't get all their information from online via the console ; they also get those stats from emailed surveys. If you're registered at easports.com then you will get surveys from them on occasion. In fact I got one a while back and they asked if I used offline franchise. Even though I didn't use it last year I lied and put I did just so it would get some attention.

This is what I've been saying as well. How can you track something offline, if it's done....well....offline? I know quite a few people that don't have their 360 online. How can EA track them? They can't. That's why when someone says offline franchise numbers are low that's BS. They don't have any idea what offline numbers are because they're offline. Now if they say online franchise numbers are low, that's acceptable because they can track that, even though it'll still be kinda BS because online franchise was pure crap. This poll will show what's really going on.

Didn't start my franchise until the second patch was released, but I got some good mileage of it. I'd still be playing right now if I hadn't downloaded that damn NCAA demo.

splff3000 - it's not a mystery, just read my post. And this poll is not going to show anything. OS is not a good cross section of the general EA football game players. This is the hardcore crowd here and we're in a minority on issues like this.

Offline franchise for Madden is the only reason I bought my 360 in 2006. Not a smart investment for me, was it?

I didn't vote as I didn't want to skew the pole. I am a franchise guy and would play offline franchise games exclusively except when the fallas are over.

But I didn't play any franchise games last year. Actually, I can't remember the last time I started a franchise. I probably won't start a franchise I until I feel I can play Football.
