Very much looking forward to getting this game. The new additions sound like they will add alot to an already excellent franchise.

Just one comment aboot playing defense like a linebacker, what other choice do you have?

You can play in perfect position and still have the puck go through your player, which gets a bit aggrevating after a while.

Plus, there is no real way to consistently defense a player standing in front of the net except by trying to check them down.

If they would add a defensive jostle button kind of like they have in FIFA, this would help greatly in defending in front of the net.

Until something like this is implemented, forwards will just have to deal with defenders trying to lay them out if they come into the Trapazoid of Doom.

That was really the point of my comment.

EA needs to fix this. I'm sure they make checking relatively easy so that people have that "OH WOW" factor (let's face it - hits sell). But, I wish they'd actually make playing proper positional hockey a bonus rather than a problem.

After reading that, I can't wait to get my hands on this year's game.

Will we finally be able to PLAY ANY TEAMS games during the season if we want to? (ala Madden and NCAA Football)

Even tho I am controlling the NY Rangers in my Franchise, sometimes I like to play key matchups like the Penguins vs the Flyers when they are scheduled. EA NHL never allowed this option.

Also will we have more SIM options this year...Like the ability to Sim to a certain part of a period and jump in and play AND jump back out and SIM to another point or SIM to the END if we want? I love Madden's powerful SIM options that lets you taylor how much of a game you want to play and how much you just want to sim out. NHL's SIM option only allowed you to jump in and play the start of a period and then you were forced to play the rest of the game.

I'm curious as to if the SIM engine has been fixed so powerhouses like Detroit, Pitts, Chicago, Boston, Washington, etc, currently don't make the playoffs in NHL10. Or is the SIM stats of the players has been fixed so players like Crosby and Ovie will actually score over 75pts a season and players like Pronger won't have 120 pts, etc.
