Re: Patrick Peterson CB #7 at LSU teambuilder rating?
Now have you really taken a look at the TB rosters and compared them to teams rosters. Although they have randomized some things within the game, they do base them on the players themselves. Or is it some kind of coincidence that every team has 95% of the players with the same likeness of what is in the game. Here is my question to you, Do you even play the NCAA series, because if you do, you would see that. Also from what I got from a lengthly discussion with Adam, each players ratings are based on the teams overall strength and is the reason as to why Bama's player ratings might be a little inflated. Here is something to think about, if peterson's rating is 6 points higher, is that the difference between you winning or losing a game online, come'on lets think about this for a minute.Comment

Yes I do. Naw just kidding, but I see what you mean about having to make the overall team rating better by overrating players and what not, but they just did it all wrong in my opinion. Will just have to wait and see in online games on how smart cpu players actually react based on ratings. Now have you really taken a look at the TB rosters and compared them to teams rosters. I know for a fact that they don't do the right hometown. But last year when I played with Oklahoma I had no idea who QB #14 with a 99 overall was.

I'm not arguing to argue, I'm stating a fact. Anyone who thinks these fictitious, randomly generated, virtual players in this game reflect a real life player is.....well maybe you should do your research. CB #7 on LSU in this game is not Patrick Peterson. His rating is randomly generated. If you want to name him that in the game go ahead, do that, make his rating better or worse, then you have a virtual copy of him. Until then, people shouldn't complain about fake rosters.Comment

Re: Patrick Peterson CB #7 at LSU teambuilder rating?
As an Alabama fan I can tell you that as much as I love Dre K, he has not proven anything to this point to have a higher rating than Peterson. PP is a stud and deserves to be rated much higher. PP has struggled at times against some top flight WRs, specifically Julio & AJ, but those are freakishly talented guys in their own rights. PP is the man and EA should have shown him more love than that.
Here are my thoughts... because Bama lost 9 of 11 defensive starters in 2009, it would lead most to think they will have a huge drop off in performance in 2010. I know some of you aren't going to like this rationale, but Alabama has Nick Saban and he is as detail oriented and tenacious as anyone I have ever witnessed coach. Bama has had top 5 recruiting classes three years in a row (two #1 classes) and believe me when I say that right now Alabama has enough talent depth to keep their defense rated extremely high for the next 3-4 years. Here are some guys out of the new (speculated) starting 11 on D that will be nationwide household names by the end of 2010:
Marcel Dareus
Dont'a Hightower
Nico Johnson
Courtney Upshaw
Dre Kirkpatrick
John Fulton
Mark Barron
That's 7 guys that will be NATIONALLY known... the other 4 will be on par with most of the other starters across the SEC, if that tells you anything. Yes, I am partial, but this team has talent for days but the biggest factor in the success of this football team is not the player talent, but rather the ability of the coaches to mentor these kids into becoming outstanding football players and better citizens, in general. Nobody on this green earth can deny the leadership ability and skill set Nick Saban brings to college football. His meticulous selection of assistants is probably an even stronger attribute... they all teach and recruit VERY well.
TigerBait - it looks like I've hijacked your thread a little, sorry man! But to directly address your concern - there is no doubt PP is the best DB in the SEC. Bama is getting love based on their ability to bring in top flight recruits in the last 3 years, their coaching/mentoring staff, for going undefeated in the SEC regular season two years in a row, and by capping it off with a NC in 2009. EA is considering all factors and not just individual talent and/or field proven performance, IMO. Is that logical and/or fair? It's debatable, but I know the Tide will be toward the top of the greatest conference in the world for some time to come. Cheers!Comment

So what you're saying is, Drew Brees on Madden is not Drew Brees, although the player's name is Drew Brees and he's #9 and he is the starting QB for the Saints?I'm not arguing to argue, I'm stating a fact.
