Those of You who think that desean Jackson is underrated are ignorant. You obviously know nothing about football and should stop talking because your making yourself look dumb. Desean may seem one dimensional to you because you saw his long touchdowns and you assume that's all he does. But your dumb and don't realize that he is a great route runner and did learn from the best, jerry rice. He explodes off the line of scrimmage using his speed, runs his route greatly, modifies his route to adjust to the defense and get open. And yes he does go across the middle. I.e. against the chiefs last season. He then blows by everyone for a score. He also deserves a high rating. When you are arguably the most explosive and dangerous player in NFL, tie the record for most 50+ yard TDs and play well at your position you should be rated an elite player. And whoever tried to say he wasnt the first to be voted to 2 positions as a starter is pretty close to ********. He was the first starter at 2 positions in the pro bowl and it was well documented during the game even. HE WAS VOTED AS A STARTER are the main words there. And who needs over 65 receptions when you only need a couple per game to make your team win. And no one can hate on him for fumbling the ball on the 1 yard line. That was one of his few turnovers and the eagles scored on the very next play. Desean Jackson scores touchdowns no matter what. If it means catching, returning punts, running the ball or anything else. He gets it done. Only educated responses are accepted. Thank you to davey225 for knowing what he is talking about.

I really have no opinion on the matter; I think the guy is tremendously talented and deserves a high rating (whether he needs to be THAT high is up for debate), but your post made me laugh.

I mean, you ask for only educated responses, but your post is full of nonsense. You call out people who think he is UNDERrated, which is the opposite of what you meant. Then you go on with the classic "if you don't agree with me you know nothing about football" approach. Awesome job with the name calling, grammar, cliches, and descriptive nature of the perfection that is Desean Jackson.

And for the record, it is completely fair to 'hate on' a guy who showboats before the play is over and throws the ball backwards before he scores. That was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen done in football, and the dumb thing is that he did the same thing in college when he backflipped before the goal line and dropped the ball in the field of play... how stupid do you have to be to make that mistake twice?

Desean Jackson is easily the most over rated player in the game. 91 overall placing him ahead of Sidney Rice, Greg Jennings, Miles Austin, Donald Driver, Marques Colston. I dont see him better than any of those players. Maybe on athletic ability but playing receiver is so much more than that. Its about route running, which he isnt the best at. Its about catching the ball over the middle, which he doesnt do. Its about going up and getting the ball over a defender which he also doesnt do often. Jackson is purely a speed receiver that excels at screens and running down field past the defense but he doesnt get off the LOS that well and his size has hindered him from making plays over the defenders especially larger CBs.

He hasnt even had a year with 65 catches yet. Overall I would say Jackson is a huge playmaker because of his return abilities and his speed but a 91? Madden ranked him alongside Welker, Calvin, Boldin, and Ochocinco! Now ask yourselves if Jackson belongs in that group. Personally I cant put him next to Miles Austin, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Hines Ward, or Vincent Jackson but thats just me. Hes to one dimensional and disappears way to much to be one of the game top 10 (counting ties).

well...what rating are you going to decrease to make Jackson not have a 91?

decrease his speed agility acceleration?

lets be real if your fast you already have a head start madden rating before they even touch the catch, catch in traffic ratings.

I agree for the most part. One good year in the league and he gets that high of a rating? Crazy. I think 87 is more fair for him.

Oh, and yes the Jets are overated. Yeah they made the afc championship game, but they had a very mediocre regular season. It is a result of 1. being a new york team 2. bandwagoners during the playoffs.

And one more thing. Saint401, you could not be more on they money.

Actually, most of what you said was wrong. You can't understand things correctly either, because you said people thought he was UNDERrated when really the word you were looking for is OVERrated. I'm sure they'll go through these things once you reach high school.

UNDERRATED: Jonathan Stewart had more yards and TDs than Deangelo and he played back up most of the year. With no passing game what so ever.

UNDERRATED: Matt Moore is way better than Jay Cutler arm not as strong but should be rated higher than him alot of QBs should.

I think Stinchcomb is rated too high, I mean he's good but if i'm not mistaken they had him as the best RT. SS Roman Harper needs some love I think

Even though Cutlers still a good QB new team changes alot aand 1 season shouldn't amount to a career he can preform well so he deserves it Moore had a top 10 reciever as well

Last time I checked these ratings are suppose to be based off last season not your career potential in the future. If that was the case LT should be in the 90s. So because Tom Brady has a top five receiver his rating shouldn't be high? Jake Delhomme proved having a great receiver doesn't mean a thing when it comes to throwing more picks than TDs.

I honestly think Manning mite be the best QB we will ever see do it in our lifetime guys will have better years and what not but he's the best the guy is insane.
