Ask the devs : Controls (Offense and Defense)

This is the place to ask about anything control related per request from the devs so the info wont be mixed up with a bunch of other stuff and lost in the mix.

    Gather/Eurostep vs Defense question.

Take a look at 0:29-0:34.The Defense counters the gather/eurostep move and forced the opponent for an off balance pass.

Is that possible in Elite 11? Can we do that? The Jazz forced Ray Allen to pass the ball instead of finishing to the basket after he gathered the ball because of the terrific D by the Jazz.

      2 questions ..

      - When posting up do we have the ability to shoulder shake left and right, sort of like a shimmy (ala Keving Garnett) if so, how would that be executed if you can explain the controls ?

      - Is there a manual button for boxing out, and i read in the Czars preview that we can move our body while in the air, like jump right, left, front, back which is great for rebounding, how does that work ?

Yea i saw tht, but i mean more of a shimmy like KG does, with a dead ball, not really a live dribble .. either before having dribbled or after.

It could be the same buttons though, so you may be right

Right now, no. I've discussed this a couple times, and it was also something brought up in one of the preview write ups and at the community day.

At the moment, pro hops/gathers and eurosteps cannot be slowed down or redirected by the defender. Every other move in the game can be.

This is something we plan or fixing before we ship. Gathers/Pro Hops and euros are being looked at in more depth in the next 2 weeks.

So right now, no. but it is in our plans and if everything goes smoothly I hope to come back and change that answer to a yes.

                1. I believe so yes. The post moves are similar to other dribble moves in that they use a combination of the left and right sticks.

The controls are slightly different depending on whether or not you're in triple threat.

                2. I'm not sure what the box out controls are as I don't believe they are complete. As for rebounding, the left stick controls the direction of the jump, and the timing of the jump is controlled by pressing up on the right stick.

The player will automatically track the ball while in the air and attempt to catch the ball using layered animations on the upper body.

The allows the player to adjust to changing situations while in mid air.

A huge improvement over last year.

This is still under discussion here so I'd like to hold off on answering until we've made a decision.

                  Thanks.

Can we choose to pro-hop in any direction, i.e. diagonally left/right or forward?

Can we adjust lay-ups in mid-air or only dunks?

Yes, you can pro hop in any direction.

The layup adjusts have been discussed and it was something we wanted, but it's not in as of yet.

I believe it's on its way, but I don't want to promise anything until I've seen it in the game.

Thanks for the response. I hope you guys can add lay-up adjustments because Allen Iverson spent his whole career putting up acrobatic lay-ups without the initial intention to dunk.

                          I agree.

I love the way you can control the direction your jumping on the court, I've yet to see that in any basketball game yet .. Outstanding rebounders will really make a difference.

In every review I have seen of this game everyone only says you can change your dunk to a left handed lay-up...is it possible to change to a right handed lay-ups?

Will Fastbreaks feel like fast breaks? Cause in Live 10 the only time anything felt like a fast break was when you stripped the ball from a player who was using size ups for 3 hours....

                              Rebounding...Was very tedious...
