The pro-tak looked better, but I still see too many instances where it should be used and not.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Some Random Gameplay Footage (Ian Cummings)
agreed about the lame duck. While it was nice that there was an actual lame duck throw when a QB was hit, the problem was that the animation resulted in too many attempts at INT's by the DL.Hey RGiles,
yes, and I know what you are referring to, the lame duck. The problem with that animation was that it happened no matter when the QB got hit. When it happened to me in APF 2k8, it was actually the first time I had seen that particular one. What they need is for the ball to come out of the QB's hands differently depending on how he is hit and the point in his throwing motion he is at. APF nailed this and it is really a cool element. I think with some tweaking, Madden could get it right as well.
Am I making sense? For some reason I am having a hard time articulating my thoughts lately
I am hoping what you are referring to from APF, is implemented into Madden this year, or at the very least, some adjustments have been made to the lame duck throw from where it was last year.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Im loving the 9er footage!! I really liked the O-Line, the fact that Snyder was there shows me that they've been doing there homework listening rumors that the RT might move to RG. Hopefully, it was by default.
Im not liking on the screen pass to Gore how the aforementioned Synder and upati look lost when they have NOBODY to block. GO PUT YOUR HAT ON A DEFENDER!! SHoulda been a TD or at least larger gainComment

If sliders fix the "no pressure with front 4" then I'll be in NFL Heaven. That's the only thing right now I'm concerned about.Joshua:

Read my post harder, I didn't speak about it, I said I have not seen it broken down and left it at that.
Here is an example of why the running is still poor, and looks like blitz:
Just look at the opening kickoff, looks very similar to the madden running.
No leaning or loss of speed.Comment

I don't know what to think about 'fight for the football' returning. Don't get me wrong the animation looks great, but I can't really enjoy it when I am pounding the buttons on my controller as fast as possible.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Some Random Gameplay Footage (Ian Cummings)
Running animations looked terrible. Honestly it's just not smooth or realistic looking at all. The QB in the pocket doesn't look real either. I don't know what it is about next gen but I strongly prefer the last gen animations. The tackling just looks really weird, the players completely stop when they come together and then fall down. There's no continuous motion of the tackle like it should be (and in real life, when players are in a struggle as depicted in the video, there's more give and take, they don't just fall down all of the sudden). Also some of the guys just seem to fall over the players on the ground after the tackle is made. It just looks very strange. I realize they want them to be jumping over the pile and stuff and not just standing there but they shouldn't always just do a somersault over somebody just because he happens to be laying on the ground in front of him.
That said, sidelines look very good. The graphics themselves are good. If only you didn't have to play the game, then maybe I'd buy it. But the gameplay just isn't smooth nor does it look realistic compared to the recent last gen games.
EDIT: After watching it a few more times, maybe I was a bit harsh. I do think the Gore run at around :53 was very unrealistic. On the replay, the "cut" he makes was not realistic at all. He sorta glides to the left to avoid the tackler...Last edited by VikesRule; 06-30-2010, 01:08 AM.Comment

good/ok : locomotion, crowd noise
the bad : pro tak,
1:16 mark watch the free safety and the rest of the defense as they close in on the tackleComment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Some Random Gameplay Footage (Ian Cummings)
I'm pleased to see a highlight of a deep ball...those were few and far between in '10..most of the passing game was dink and dunk.
I also saw less player morphing in pass coverage...the guy usering his safety, would have been able to get a those morph ints in madden 10..by just being in the recievers general vicinity. Instead he was simply able to jar the ball incomplete, which is more realistic.
The AI front 4..what can I say, they need to study the OL-DL interactions in APF..and just straight copy it. I dont see moves being used to get to quarterback.
Defensive linemen need to be bull rushing, using ccounter moves-swim, rip, club, spin moves, and trying to neutralize the OL's hands. I dont like how they run right into the OL's waiting arms, and then try to hand fight them.
OL Vs Passrusher is the thing I like the least about the game.Comment
