Nice win against Kentucky, to bad you couldn't play like that against St. John's.

Re: Mike Lewis Coaching Legacy
Thanks! I really like Troutman. It looks like he will sign early, we just have to keep fighting off Morehead State. The other two guys, while they don't have any offers we have a long way to go.Last edited by grismosw; 06-25-2010, 04:55 AM.PS4 Username: grismosw7Comment

Re: Mike Lewis Coaching Legacy
Thanks, I'm convinced Kentucky just wasn't that good. Outside of Patterson and Meeks they had nothing else. I mean Jasper and Stevensen were OK, but there bench was horrid. I wouldn't be surprised if Gillispie gets fired, just like RL.PS4 Username: grismosw7Comment

Oh I see, well it's still Kentucky, whether there mediocre or not, so that will help you a lot if you have a chance to be in the NCAA tournament.Comment

Re: Mike Lewis Coaching Legacy
So far Armstrong is struggling offensively and on the boards but defensively he's been good. The main issue I think he is having is with his strength, he's getting bullied around on the blocks. I'm almost thinking of giving him some time at small forward.
Robinson has played really well, if he keeps it up he should give Lester Hudson a run for OVC POY.PS4 Username: grismosw7Comment

Panthers hold on late
Charleston, IL - The Panthers we able to recover from a slow start to take a 28-18 lead into the half. The lead was keyed by a 18-0 run, after trailing 12-5 about halfway through the half. In the 2nd half both teams came to life on offense and the Grizzlies were able to chip away and get the lead down to 2 with 1:30 left but the Panthers were able to hit 9 out of 10 free throws down the stretch to hold on.
Dave Armstrong broke out of his funk, he had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Armstrong excelled when he was put in the lineup midway through the 1st half at small forward, abusing the small defenders. He also had a key block late in the game.
Up next for the Panthers is Sam Houston State (1-3), they are led by Deluis Ramirez (14.8 ppg).

Panthers cruise to sloppy win
Charleston, IL - On a night were it seemed neither team wanted to win, the Panthers were able to do just enough right to get it done. EIU never trailed in this one, but made it close throughout before winning 67-57.
Matt Dorlack returned to 07-08 form with his best performance of the season, he had 15 points and 11 rebounds. The story of the night though was the Bearkats inept offense, which managed to shoot less than 30% on the night.
Up next the Panthers head to Boston to face Boston College (2-3). They are led by Tyrese Rice (20.4 ppg, 4.6 apg).

Re: Mike Lewis Coaching Legacy
He is still starting at PF, but seeing time at SF. He does not have much of a 3pt shot, his mid range jumper is OK though. He's a tweener, hopefully he adds some muscle - if he does he'll be a force in the OVC.PS4 Username: grismosw7Comment

Panthers hang tough but fall apart in final minutes
Boston, MA - The Panthers nearly pulled off their second big upset on the road in as many weeks but fell apart in the final two minutes. EIU trailed 62-59 with 2:00 to play when Romain Martin fouled super freshman Taron Callahan, Callahan hit the three and converted the free throw for the four point play and the Eagles never looked back.
Callahan was one of the nation's top recruits last season, he was ranked #8 nationally. The Panthers big time recruit, Dave Armstrong, had his best night of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
EIU starts conference play later this week as they host Austin Peay (4-2, 0-0). AP is led by OVC Player of the Year candidate Drake Reed, Reed is averaging 26.7 ppg and 7.5 rpg on the season.
