I don't understand why this one would bother you except for it's an ad for the sake of an ad or giving EA another jab of money making.Originally posted by Football Dude01

Seems like a pointless addition IMO but i loved madden last year and this will in no way hurt the game so its take it or leave it for me.Madden Fan 4 life!

I can understand and appreciate that. I said that because you brought it up twice, but I understand the level of frustration with franchise mode.Originally posted by Football Dude01It just gets old that EA can perfect all these ads and marketing, but franchise just gets shoved until next year. I wasn't meaning to take a jab at EA, although I can see how you thought that.
The only thing I will say about franchise mode is this:
A) They told us up front they are taking a year to work on franchise
B) I'd rather have a redone from scratch franchise mode vs one they just tuned, tweaked or didn't touch at all.
C) They better deliver the goods.Comment

Aren't the franchise guys separate from the people that would implement something like this?
Reason I ask is that I don't think the time taken to do this took any time away from upgrading franchise.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I love the feature as long as they develop it and it's not a one and done deal. Adding "Life" to the game is always a good thing.Last edited by Skyboxer; 06-29-2010, 08:54 PM.Joshua:

I wouldnt call announcing this a week before E3 "being upfront"!LOLI can understand and appreciate that. I said that because you brought it up twice, but I understand the level of frustration with franchise mode.

Not when you have gamers speculating and making suggestions all year, as well as a new development cycle that starts soon after the game is released. The standard for informing Madden gamers has been set so low on next-gen that what they did actually seems upfront in comparison.
Choice B shows you have alot of faith in EA about Madden 12, I hope you are right.Comment

Gamers were complaining about misinformation from Madden 10 and now someone else says , "because it's a week before E3, doesn't cut it."
You can't have it both ways. Would you have rather rented or purchased 11 and discovered just tweaks here and there or would you rather know upfront before you rent or purchase that they are reworking franchise mode for next year?
Your choice.
Also, statement B that you bolded wasn't because I have a lot of faith in 12(when I haven't had a chance to put 11 in the hands, yet) that's just the way I've approached video games since the year 2000. I'm not that hard to please, I was a big fan of HH baseball because of the game play. Others couldn't stand the graphics because they looked like they came from the Atari era. Give me Techmo Bowl and RBI baseball any day of the week along with High Heat.
EA just needs to deliver on what they promised and we need to hold them to that.Comment

Pump your brakes Roadman, I never said "it doesnt cut it", EA can and does, whatever they want to. I just said I wouldnt call what they did, being upfront. Being upfront would of been announcing this when the new development cycle started or at least before the dev blogs started, IMO. It's cool if you think this is being upfront with consumers but I dont.I would.

Also, how am I trying to have it both ways? I dont see how people complaining about misinformation means I should consider this being upfront. Is it better than them not saying anything at all, yeah but, that doesnt mean announcing it right before E3 is being upfront. It just means that, it's better than what they usually do. LOL! That was my earlier point about the standard being set so low, some people are thankful for anything, IMO.
That's what Im trying to do. When will "WE"? Would it have really made a difference to you if they announced the news early in the cycle? Let's remember, they don't announce one bit of news till SB time. So, that was roughly 4 months ago.
I really don't think it would stop people from complaining that franchise mode didn't make it in. I'm sure OS will hear that till the end of the year.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 "Swagger" Rating Explained (MyMaddenPad)
I'm wondering if it will have an effect on WHEN they choose to celebrate. Some guys celebrate every chance, while some do at certain times to get their team pumped up. I'll be annoyed to see a guy like Tebow high stepping every time he makes a play, but if he never gets excited that'll be a killer too.Colorado State Rams Florida Gators Colorado Rockies Denver Nuggets Denver BroncosComment
