So what DID they fix in franchise?

I know they said they haven't really done much with it but they did mention that they fixed some small bugs with it. Anyone have details?

Would love if they would fix injured reserve, add the ability to rename coaches (NE Coach), and let you edit ALL fields of new rookies and other players in the league (I think HT and WT and a few others are still locked)

No and No....Aside from some tweaks to simmed stats....Franchise is unchanged....But there is really no solid info and what we have is kinda vague.

I think tweaking stats is all they fixed.

Well hopefully they fixed their stupid stats. After the one patch 6 runners would get over 2000 yards and like 10 linemen/LB's would get 16+ sacks with around 4 or so getting over 20. Don't know how they messed up that much......

Re: So what DID they fix in franchise?

"Specifically, we improved franchise stats (especially season rushing yards and season sacks), in-game injuries, Super Bowl presentation, NCAA Draft Class tuning, and we even completely re-created over 8000 players in 32 draft classes. We also added the new Meadowlands Stadium as the 2014 Super Bowl site. However, the biggest addition to Franchise mode this year is Game Planning. This year you have the ability to create a new Game Plan for every game in Franchise if you choose to do so. If you’re playing the Colts or Saints, you can focus your defensive Game Plan around Manning or Brees. If you’re playing a team with a great secondary like the Eagles, you can focus your Game Plan more around running the ball. You can save off a separate Game Plan for every opponent you face and if they add new players after year one, you can go back and edit that Game Plan to account for those changes."

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but I think I will be content with franchise this year. The sim stats are what really bothered me last year and if they are fixed, I will definitely be playing a lot of franchise. If Madden 12 rolls around and franchise really hasn't changed though, i don't think I'll be able to say the same thing again.

Re: So what DID they fix in franchise?

With respect to the Online Franchise, it sounds like there was somewhat of an open call by Ryan Ferwerda for any "bugs" that were seen with the Online Franchise. I'm guessing things like stat reporting glitches (e.g. rookie stats remaining unchanged from year to year) will be fixed.

@bgdave Bugs will be addressed. No new features.

@JoseBoza No new feature additions for M11.

                @JoseBoza Online, that is.

@JoseBoza I meant Madden 11 OF will NOT have a salary cap. Yes, we will have a web site like last year.
I vaguely remember seeing somewhere that the playoff logic would be fixed, but that might've just been wishful thinking on my part.

I spent a ton of time gameplanning for my OFs in M10, so it'll be terrific to have an integrated tool for at least getting the plays together. I'm a little bummed that scouting won't be available, but that would probably further kill the OF experience for casual users. The hardcore community would get a ton of mileage out of that feature as long as it wasn't done via the "coins" system IMO.

I agree. Franchise stats is actually what turned me off last year; even more-so, than game-play problems. If stats are tuned correctly then that coupled with game-play improvements (locomotion, dual stick controls, improving blocking logic, etc.) should make for a very good M11, IMO. The only thing that I would really would like to see fixed (and I said this even before we were told that M11 franchise would go untouched) is that if you put a player on IR you open up a roster spot. If that happens I would be ecstatic. I know that it being in isn't likely at this point. However, I'm still holding out hope.

I also agree with you on M12. Honestly, I'm very optimistic about Franchise in M12. I think that since they're working on it for well over a year then we should see plenty of progress compared to the normal time they work on it (which is probably only a few months).

I agree Skyboxer. Hopefully it adds something to the franchise mode to make each week feel different. On top of that, hopefully they build upon it in the years to come. Both games (NCAA) need to get this in there.

Well, we know what they SAY they fixed, but what they HAVE fixed won't be known for several more weeks. An important distinction, IMHO.

In other words, they fixed stuff that you don't actually take part in during the gameplay - just the CPU generated statistics of simulated games.

I agree. If you're playing the Vikings one week, you'll want to stack up on pass plays and if you are facing the Bills, you'll want to stack up on Run plays and play action.

I don't know if you can modify within Franchise mode from week to week though?

Hopefully they've fixed man assignments this year so you can actually take the opposing teams best WR out of the game without other players moving to different positions. (MLB going into man on WR2 and CB2 going into man on the TE randomly)

I believe the stats are fixed when I see if for myself and not a moment sooner.
