Re: Lighting Improvements in Madden NFL 11
Wow! This makes me excited for this game again. Great blog!
On another note, I think Phil Frazier should take some pointers from Patrick Cowan on how to present new features to the community. If you break it down like this lighting blog, the franchise mode improvements could actually come across as fairly impressive. His block of text blog made it seem like we weren't getting anything until M12.
Originally posted by Phil FrazierSpecifically, we improved franchise stats (especially season rushing yards and season sacks), in-game injuries, Super Bowl presentation, NCAA Draft Class tuning, and we even completely re-created over 8000 players in 32 draft classes. We also added the new Meadowlands Stadium as the 2014 Super Bowl site. However, the biggest addition to Franchise mode this year is Game Planning.
Just a couple of pictures and some better examples could have lessened the blow to the franchise-committed gamers.Comment

Re: Lighting Improvements in Madden NFL 11
I'm really glad they improved the lighting. Lighting in Madden always looked dull and dark, the colors didn't pop out like they do in real life. The lighting looks vastly improved from last year. However, it is obvious that the lights need to be brighter on the field. If you look at the real photo of the stadium and then look at M11 photo, you can clearly see that the lighting needs be brighter/better lit on the field in M11.Comment

Looks really cool. Looking a lot like Madden 07 which in my opinion was the best looking game from a technical standpoint.RIP Sean Taylor. Still my idol!Comment

WOW! Very impressive! That last pic of the Steelers was really amazing! I only wish we had more camera options to take us down on the field more like in that screen.Comment

Re: Lighting Improvements in Madden NFL 11
It really is amazing what some tweaks to lighting can do for the overall look of the game. I applaud the visual team at EA for really focusing on this, both in Madden and NCAA.Ryan Spencer

Really shows in these comparisons. Is it just me, or does the white(on shoes in particular) look dingy? Almost grey-ish in some cases.

Re: Lighting Improvements in Madden NFL 11
Now if the rest of the team would catch whatever is he has got, Madden could really be something visually spectacular. Imagine progressive lighting and dynamic weather with the weather affecting gameplay. Also, if EA would put a hold on their "beyond broadcast" vision for Madden and just master "tv broadcast" first. Everything this guy blogged about was how things look in a REAL BROADCAST.
Come to think of it, Patrick Cowen has got to be independently contracted. Somebody get this man a permanent position at EA Tiburon!LOL!
