Thanks haha, I was just so far ahead of every pitch, with pitch speed at 5 i counted one game and i pulled almost 30 pitches for fouls because i was so far ahead

Honestly, if you have to lower it to 0, so be it! As long as you feel challenged and you're having fun then that's all that matters.

I just got this game about 2 weeks ago. I have pitch speed set at 1, although I really haven't found a good one yet. I'm usually way ahead of the slow stuff, and too late on the fast stuff.

I would say it's because of age, but I've never had a good eye. I remember playing with a friend of mine 15+ yrs ago who'd strike me out using only pitch outs

I've swung at my fair share of pitchouts.

I'm at 3 or 4. These middle aged eyes can't catch up anymore.

Some TV's have more lag than others. When I have played on my big screen, I have even less time to decide to swing or not.

I started at zero, went up one click from there and have now settled in at 3. Pitch speed is better this year than last year, imo. 09 seemed really fast, even with the meter zeroed.

pitchouts ? lol, cool... i never did one of those... i've swung for some real high fastballs, and been ahead on some offspeed stuff that when the show mo comes on it's so far ahead of the ball, you dont see it in real life.

I wonder what speed give us the most realistic representation. If we timed a 95 MPH fast ball from the time it left the pitchers hand until the time it hit the catcher's mit, how long would that be? Does the default pitch speed give use the most realistic representation?

I don't think I can react fast enough if it was true representation. I think Default is just fine for a video game with an adequate challenge.

Either way, I don't think we can measure it accurately anyway. We're talking about fractions of seconds being the difference between completely accurate and completely off. I think the margin of error of using a stop watch would have a window too large to know if we're being accurate.

If someone was up to it, they could use some type of video editor/player to slow the video down to exactly half speed, or quarter speed, or whatever would allow someone to use a stop watch accurately. After that, you would just have to divide the final time accordingly.

You might not even need a stop watch either. You could probably just use whatever clock the video player has running with the video... well, as long as it was in small enough increments.
