Trailer was OK. I'm still trying to decide on 2K11.

As I said before, off-ball movement animations to get open seem brand new (you can see it clearly with pierce and also a glimpse with marvin williams during JJ size-up)

hmmm I cant get too excited or dissapointed either way how obviously early this info is.

But as far as im concerned, if it was released if can be critisized.

            - The contesting of the shots seems to be the same, I absolutely hate that swat and turn the back animation, especially by him.

            - I didnt like the fact that Paul Pierce was realistically animated as far as trying to shake the defender while the defender pretty much stood upright and looked lazy and uninvolved.2k has always had great offensive animations, but the defense on the other hand has never seemed to be as accurate.

            - That reach animation that Jameer Nelson did is all together wrong. When a person does decide to reach during squared-up defense they dont step and reach. They either, reach, shift and reach or lunge for the ball while reaching. 2k has always had great offensive animations, but the defense on the other hand didnt seem to

+ I really, really, really liked the implications i got from the fact that Varijao was making contact with Garnett DURING his pass. Hopefully this is an indication of a more physical game.

+ Rondos on ball D was nice, I would like to see how it transitions if Steve was to change directions.

Most of this video is 2k10. Look at Big Baby's mohawk. Jameer Nelson's shoes. Jeff Teague, Kobe Bryant, Richard Jefferson look EXACTLY the same, along with everybody else. Whoever made this video just added accessories to certain players, and added the Vince Carter dunk. and there are no new contact animations everyones talking about. Just get on 2k10, pump fake and jump into contact, and those exact animations will happen.

other than the euro step and slightly more physicality this game still looks the same as 2k10, but as beluba said they arent showing a lot of 2k11 stuff. I hope 2k is going to give us more control over the players this year because im getting tired of being stuck in animation or if i want to stop for a pull up jumper i got charging into the player infront of me for a dunk or if i want to pull off a dunk i stop and shoot a jumper... in 2k animations is what makes and breaks it... they look good, but it is so watered down with them its ridiculous..

Nice trailer but I would prefer a wall of text that informs us of what's new and what not but I guess its better than nothing.

So far no "Canned" animations but its a trailer so nothing confirmed yet.

As general theme here, people who are perceptive and can contrast will see the small additions to the already stellar presentation. The Jordan Logo atop the TimeWarner arena, rondo and nash interaction, the lebron head and ball fake, all are new additions. People who are fast to pass everything off as the same, or looking for what I dunno, will not see anything. If you don't know what you're looking for you won't see it, ever. Fans of the series for longer than 2yrs can see the many differences and improvements don't to the engine. Naysayers and the uninformed just can't get much out of preview trailer. Kobe and Vince drove across the lane and it resulted in layup/dunk with the strong hand, In 2K10 thats a jumpshot. Only the informed would know why they showed that. I loved it.

That's not entirely true. In 2K10, defenders get "sucked in" animations if they are close enough to the offensive player performing an action. If you shoot over a defender that didn't challenge the shot by pressing the corresponding button, they'll still put a hand up.

Or when a player dunks and there just happens to be an unsuspecting defender nearby, he'll get "sucked into" an animation where he's getting "posterized" like Kobe did Dwight Howard or T-Mac and Shawn Bradley.

How about that funky animation in 2k10 (post-patches), when an offensive player commits to a shot in the paint (or near it), and he ends up flailing about as the defender gets sucked into him with his hands up?

I can keep going on and on about scenarios in 2K10 alone, but my problem with the trailer is that I see some of these same animations. If anything, what LeBron just did in the trailer makes me cautious. I pray that they did not bring back the infamous up and under from the three point line crap from 2k9. Not only did that move suck in the defender, but it also had a 75% rate of success regardless of where the player was on the floor.

like i have always said 2ks animations make or break it... sometimes you try to run one way but you cant because you are locked in an animation and you have to wait until its over stuff like that kills the gameplay, yes it looks pretty and nice and all, but 2k is so incomplete they just need to give people more control over there players

That's more like a "2K10-post-the-desired-yet-never-created-patch" version. It's just a shame that people are deciding whether or not to buy 2K11 based on that. Oh well...

Hopefully that layup animation that Deron Williams does in this video will be removed for 2K11.

I look forward to seeing a video showing more new stuff.
Historically, E3 just isn't the best time to showcase sports games that are months and months away from ship. Also, we have to be mindful that anything we put out there may possibly be stolen by our competition. So it's in our best interest to "hold back" the good stuff til we get closer to release. Don't worry, 2K11 is FAR from 2K10 with new animations. We're excited to talk in detail about all the gameplay improvements we've made. But for now, everyone's just gonna have to hang tight.
