The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.

Collins was hurt and was limited from weeks 2-8. He finished the season with 56 tackles, 13 pass deflections, and 6 INTs. The year before he had 72 tackles, 15 pass deflections, and 7 INts.
Bethea had 95 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 4 INTs playing in a secondary without Sanders which asked him to play the run a bit more at times. The year before he had 101 tackles, only 4 pass deflections, and only 2 INTs.
To me they should both be 94s with Bethea having better tackling and hit power and Collins having better catching and coverage ratings. Sharper should be the 95.
According to the guys who do deep analysis per position at profootballfocus.com Nick Collins was the 4th best S in the league last year
Re: Why would someone's speed rating fall in 2-3 years?
I read most of the posts here and have yet to see anyone ask what his acceleration rating is. Wes Welker isn't a super fast WR [86 speed] but he has 96 agility and 99 acceleration. IS it possible that Donny More felt that Nick needed lower speed but highere acceleration? I didn't look at the numbers, but that could be the case...
Re: Why would someone's speed rating fall in 2-3 years?
The guy on page three posted exactly why the ratings dropped, this thread is funny. Just change the ratings if you disagree. EA actually gave us power to do that.

Tha doesn't even matter, because his straight SPEED should be high, his accel/agility should be high, but they have no reason for his speed to be low. Hence again, one of the FASTEST S in the NFL.

I have to agree here...that 4.36 was quite impressive and I have seen him run down loads of players in coverage and on special teams. He shows some good speed on some of these returns...

Ben Watson outran Champ Bailey on an INT return a few years ago, actually caught him from the other side of the field. Should Watson have Better speed than Bailey?

Let's see...prolly not. Did Bailey get held up at all or was it all open field? Have a video link?
Re: Why would someone's speed rating fall in 2-3 years?
Speed, thats one of the problems with Madden over the years. Doesn't matter about all the other skills, it's all about speed in Madden. If the NFL was based entirely on Speed then the freaking Raiders would be numerous SuperBowl champs, Derious Heyward-Bey anyone?
Re: Why would someone's speed rating fall in 2-3 years?
Nick Collins has underrated speed period. Considering he has all 3 of these attributes, timed speed, games speed and is a pro bowl caliber player. But there are a lot of guys who have underrated speed and overrated speed.
Most the ratings for 3/4 LB's make me sick. The guys may have a quick first step but way to many have mid 80's speed. Also most 3/4 LB's are lost in space and have mid 80's agility which is even worse. Might as well put them at CB in some scenarios.
Simple comparison
SS Roy Williams vs. Demarcus Ware
Williams 75 speed wtf lol
Ware 86 speed that's fine because he is a legit freak of nature
Williams Agility 70 wtf lol
Ware Agility 89 sorry way to high as well as 90% of the other 3/4 LB's
Has anybody compared these 2 guys trying to cover in space or make an open field tackle? I have and Roy Willy is plain better obviously.
So why do we have ******** ratings well... Roy Williams has the stigma of an in the box safety who can't cover therefor I guess Donny believes you have to make his athletic ratings so unrealistically bad to compensate for that.
Ware as well as other 10+ sack OLB's all have inflated agility ratings in a lot of cases speed ratings to.
Why can't we use all the ratings to be more accurate?
I thought they put in Zone Coverage and Man coverage so guys like Roy who supposedly "suck" in coverage can still have a respectable speed rating? nope instead they make him way slower then he should be

Spot on man! Can't agree more! This is a HUGE issue. I am attempting to get rid of this BS in my system on www.fbgratings.com/members so feel free to check it out or post in the recent topic about ratings issues:

TBH, if they were stretched... Troy Polamalu, Reggie Nelson, Brandon Meriweather who have still had 93 speeds, would fall to 87 speeds, because they are not close to Nick Collins' speed.
