Would we see a Madden 12 if there is a 2011-12 lockout?

If not, then it would give more time for EA to create an even better game

Yes there will be a madden next year. They are already working on franchise mode and superstar mode for madden 12. Strike are no strike. There will be a madden 12. Making of the game doesn't stop just because of a strike. If that was the case then EA would lose millions in sales and so would the NFL and players. So yes there will be a madden 12 next year.

They have assembled a team to set the vision and I believe the usual cycle is January -> June. The CBA is still a work in progress and Looman is busy with MUT.
You are right there would still be a Madden12. I don't think it would even affect sales that much if there was a strike. Probably need an Nfl fix even more. No chance of a strike in my opinion. Players might bluff it but too much to lose for both sides.

If there was a strike.... Would Madden still get to use the real players' names and likenesses? I don't mean to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about (because I don't), but if the NFLPA and NFL were unable to come to a deal, would we still have access and a license with the NFLPA? (NFL Players Association)... Just throwing that out there....

Not that I think there will be a lockout..

When the NHL had its' lockout a few years ago EA still released an NHL game, so I don't know why they wouldn't with Madden.

If anything, having no football played might boost Madden, people are going to want a football fix even more so if the league locks out.

I want to know how they are going to revamp franchise mode if no NFL is being played. EA doesnt know what the salary cap will be, or if there will be one.

EA has the license for both the NFL and NFLPA through 2012, so I'd have to guess it would be like NHL 2005 where they still had access to teams and players.

I don't think there will be a lockout so I don't think this will be an issue but there will be Madden. It'll be interesting to see how it looks but I do think its interesting that they're going to put emphasis on franchise in a year where there is a potential lockout which could lead to them having to totally start over again. It'll be intriguing

HAHA what makes you think EA would skip during an NFL lockout year, they havent skipped in 20+ years for anything (even quality). People will be itching for nfl football if there is a lockout and boy EA and NCAA football (the game and the actual NCAA) will make a killing.

That's actually not entirely accurate. There was a year when Visual Concepts was developing the game and EA was not happy with it and cancelled that year. I believe it was on the PS at that time. Gameday was kicking its *** anyway, so maybe it was a good thing.
