I just stopped by gamestop and they said ea sent them an email not allowing a midnight release this year, I'm kinda pissed off.

I doubt this is true. I havent asked my gamestop yet but I would guess they just said this so they didnt have to do one. WalMart will still have it at midnight so its gamestops loss.

The gamestop where I prepaid for my copy told me I could pick it up at midnight Monday. They even had a sign on the door. But that was almost 2 months ago so things could have changed. I always pick mine up the next day anyway so that does not bother me if ture.

My gamestop isn't doing a midnight release, of course I don't think they've ever had a midnight release for NCAA here.

I don't think NCAA has the sales numbers to make it midnight release material when compared to games like the cods and halos and even madden.

You may be right, but that is NOT true in every part of the country. Plus that reasoning would not cause EA to not allow midnight release. Hell, I challenge someone to come up with a reason why EA would not want midnight releases.


Not saying the OP is lying, but there may have been some miscommunication or deception by gamestop.

I asked a guy at my store last week (New Port Richey, FL) and he said they were. I'll check again on Sunday or Monday, though.

Normally midnight releases depend on the store. I know there are two within a couple miles of me and only one of them has a midnight release each year.

The gamestop employee may of just said that EA wont allow them to do a midnight release just to make sure that customers don't throw a temper tantrum.

Midnight releases do vary by area and I think that for certain games its up to that individual store if they are going to do it or not.

gamestop has to have 50 reserves of a game to do a midnight usually and ncaa is just not that popular compared to madden, so there are plenty of game stops that will be doing a midnight just not all of them like madden, cod, halo, god of war etc..
