    SteelerSpartan Custom NCAA 11 Sliders

    Updated: 8/31/10

    *****
    Version 2.0*******

    ***2.0 Notes***

Well this is probably my last changes, unless EA releases
a patch that changes up the gameplay a lot

My goal with these last tweaks was to raise the cpu comp% without it becoming cheap again..... and I think having

    CPU WR Catch--------60
    User Pass Coverage---40

Does that well.....the cpu will attack the ball more..but your Dbs(if rated appropriately) will be there to tackle em and fight for the ball with them......

The only other little tweaks I made was to Field Goal Kicking.... I dropped the users acc a bit and put the cpu back to default:

    User FG ACC----15
    Cpu FG ACC----50

    *****User Rushing Difficulty Notes********

Ok Im all out of ideas about how to make the Option Read and Pro Style co exist.....its really kicking my a**

Maybe after a Tuner set is released by EA for download, we can do something to make it better

Heres what I think the best settings are given what we have...of course people have different skill levels, so tune up or down if you like....but this what I feel is the best base

50 User Run Block to 35 CPU Rush D
    User RBA at 45
    CPU Takling at 50

Hopefully the D still provides a good challenge to pro style Os over the long haul

    Pass Coverage:

Should be a good boost for both in aggressiveness from previous settings....but still not "Psychic" The recovery is pretty realistic and you can complete passes like this:
    <object width="640" height="360"></object><object width="640" height="360">

    <embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/315.4.9/flash/mdMediaPlugin/mediaplayer.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2011/ncaa11/61600/662A0001_3_FLV_VIDEO_RkE.flv&link=http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/35195950&linkfromdisplay=true&linktarget=_top&imag e=" width="640" height="360"></object>EA Sports: NCAA Football 11 Video

Comebacks and Curls are now effective....
Now Im not saying its eliminated all psychic play...but Ive reduced it quite a bit

    Special Teams:

Kickers will miss too many PATs if you drop the acc below 45...I zero'd out the Power because it was just getting ridiculous with the 55+ yard makes by the cpu....but they can still make some long ones.....the FG power slider isn't that strong

    **********************

These sliders were designed to get a level in between Heisman and All-American.....keep that in mind

My slider philosophy is that the difficulty in the passing game should come from the pass rush.....because I can't stand psychic DB play

I tend to like a really tough CPU Rush D, but Im a good runner in the game and have picked up most of the tricks over the years..

Only House Rule I play by is No Run Commit

probably some flaws but try em out

Re: SteelerSpartan Custom NCAA 11 Sliders

Ive played several games with your sliders and I gotta say I am not enjoying them.

Coverage feels better than the default settings. I was ending games with 45% completion percentage because the DBs were stuck to the receivers like glue.

Now, I am ending games with 45% completion percentage because your WRs will drop at least 5 wide opened passes before the conclusion of the first quarter.

Turning the CPUs QB accuracy down has also made the CPU throw freebie INTs to my SS that was back in cover two. I've had it happen in the first quarter of the last three games. It is always the same thing... a 10 yard overthrow straight to the Strong Safety.

I haven't really tried out my running ability with these sliders. I haven't cared to. I've been playing with the Air Raid, Run n Shoot, and Spread No Huddle primarily.

I hope my feedback helps and I didn't come across like a jerk. I'm just trying to be helpful. I hope your experimentation works out!

I wasn't seeing all that many drops even with most of the teams Ive been playing with that had mid to low 80s in catching............but go figure, I play with some elite WRs and they are starting to pop up

Im working 40 user catch right now, and it seems to be better

Now I havent seen nearly that many Ints, though Ive reworked the pash rush a tad since then

I'll update here in another hour or so

Re: SteelerSpartan Custom NCAA 11 Sliders

Just wanted to say thanks to SteelerSpartan. I haven't tried your sliders yet but All American is too easy and Heisman is too hard so creating a level in the middle will make for a near perfect game.

I hope something can be figured out for the running game regardless of what kind of back is carrying the ball.

Played a few more games.......and Kicker ACC is iffy for CPU at 35, saw 2 missed PATs in each of two games.....Looks like 40 or 45

Going to go Test DB coverage some more....see how far I can push it before they get all psychic

These are the only Heisman Sliders I see... Ill run a game or 2, and see how it plays... maybe post some stats

Virginia Tech vs. BC...should be a goodie

I use threshold 40 also but I play on "slow", its much better

Have to take a break....been playing a ton since 12:30 am

before I turned it off, I think found out that the FG Power slider is broken.....turned it down to 0 and Alabamas low 80 kicker was still getting it past the posts from 50+ yards

Anyone want to test that and confirm??

                Acc works though I think

                    Update: 1st Post Updated

Well after a break,I went back in and tried get the Dbs playing more aggressive without them going psychic

Im liking the changes thus far......The added increase to the CPU Coverage helps them contain the flats better......

I ran a lot of Curl Routes and Posts in 1-1 cov with different matchups.

Theres definiley a noticeable difference at how well the DBs will recover and get back into position now

                    The changes I made were:

Human Pass Cov 0 to 5
Cpu Pass Cov 0 to 30

On a side note, again I do think the FG Power sliders are broken for both Human and CPU

Im going to stick with these for a while now, unless something major pops up....I'll try and post stats

                    Tackling Tip

In case some of you didn't play Madden 10 much and didn't get your 1st taste of Pro-Tak last year, heres a tip...........

Hold A to help gang tackle and trigger Pro Tak

                      Final -
                      Me (B Team) 30
                      CPU (C TEAM) 17

The CPU seemed like it had pretty realistic offensive stats. From my end I went 5/16 but I chalk a bit of that up to me being rusty. I threw 3 or 4 balls that were knocked down by linebackers I didn't even see.

                      Misc Notes:
The CPU lost 3 fumbles but they had at least 3 more fumbles that I didn't recover. There were 0 INTs thrown for either side. CPU ran 62 offensive plays, myself 43. My defensive coverage at times just seemed terrible, leaving guys wide open but other times it was fine. 3 penalties called throughout the game, 2 false starts and a roughing the passer. Both teams had 1 drop combined (mine).

I had 0 sacks on the opposing QB until the final 2 drives where the CPU QB was holding onto the ball for long periods of time, when I picked up 3. Didn't seem too bad though, CPU QB did a good job of getting the ball out quickly early in the game so I can't be angry about that.

The BIGGEST thing I noticed was how bad my running game was. If it weren't for a late 68 yard run, my starting HB would have had exactly 14 yards on 14 attempts. The other team's D-Line was absolutely blowing up my offensive line.

Edit: My offense was pretty bad. I made a few big plays with a fumble return for TD and a kickoff return.

were you trying to run it from the option read or pro style?????

Were you using my latest update, of RB BLK at 45 and CPU Rush D at 50.....Cpu Tackling 50??????

^^^Its been tough sledding even at those updated settings....I'll agree but Ive still had some 100 yard games. Though you may be right about it being a little too tough for a 45 to 50 Differential..

If you feel like your banging your head against the wall too much, Id suggest Flipping those to 50 User Run Blk to 45 Cpu Rush D..........but be careful, Toss, Pulling and Stretch plays might become too successful

I fell into that trap last year....its a delicate balance.... Last Year Id be getting stuffed with WVUs spread option run attack but have my Pro Style Teams I played with(Mich St, Arkansas) kept in check well ......So Id then increase Run blk a little more to get a better Spread Option run going......but as Soon as I did, Id dominate with my Pro style rushing teams

I could take Mich St and push Cody from Alabama around at will and rack up 150-250 rushing yards easily

Im going to stick it out at 45 to 50 for another day or so at least....but if you guys find a good balance let me know

Im going to stick it out at 45 to 50 for another day or so at least....but if you guys find a good balance let me know
I was having moderate success with plays to the outside and options (probably 3-6 yards average). But anytime I ran it up the gut, I was met by 3 dudes and either picked up a yard or a loss. I'm admittedly only a run of the mill player and haven't gotten the dual sticks running down, so I'm gonna keep going at it, probably bumping the run block up a bit.

Gonna keep using these and making my own adjustments as the games go on. I'll keep you updated.

Probably gonna fool around with the slow game speed too.

Good hard fought game, might have been different had I played at Miss State
