1. yes. just start a private online dynasty and don't invite anyone.

2. it's the only way you can use the Dynasty Wire(recruiting online, being able to create stories, etc) feature if you want to do a single player dynasty. that is really the only reason.

3. haven't yet, but likely plan to at some point.
