Question Defensive Keys

I am new to NCAA; have a few questions about "Defensive Keys"

What exactly is the purpose/thought behind them?
The defensive key of "shifting coverage" does exactly what?
The defensive key of "run left" "run right" "run mid" "pass" does what?
The defensive key of "key receiver" does what?

Assuming these are presnap options that help the defense? Say it's 3rd and 20 and you think a pass is coming; you'd hit LT plus RS Up, assuming a pass is coming? Is this what these are?

Can you do two at once - key on "pass" and key on a receiver?

Thank you all.
