How much do u set your speed threshold?

I am playing on AA and was wondering what is a good speed threshold slider for user vs. user games on All-American?

not sure about user vs user but for user vs cpu my speed threshold is at 70. Florida recruits speed(in real life) for a reason, so it should make a difference in the game and not be neutralized.

If you wanted them more spread out you'd have then at a 30.
70 is evening the playing field more.

I thought the lower it is then the more difference in speed amongst fast and slow players?

Hope someone in the know can explain the speed threshold thing.

The lower the number you set the slider to, the greater the difference in speeds. Low threshold number = fast players are that much faster than their slower counterparts. High threshold number = closing the gap in speed differences and there isn't much of an advantage to having speed on either side of the ball.

The lower the setting the more the difference between the fastest and slowest players. Think of it like this a DT shouldn't be able to run down a WR or HB in open field. By setting it to 70 it'd be like giving him a 70% chance of doing just that.

Like another poster said, you've got it backwards. You should have it at 30 or so if you want fast players to feel faster.

I have mine set at 30, and I can feel it on plays like WR screens -- I don't get run down from behind by a DT when I'm cutting upfield.

Yeah. I've been running it at 35, thinking about lowering to 30. It feels solid, but just enough does a player catch someone that shouldn't. So 30 looks to be the solid number.

why not play with it at 0?

Re: How much do u set your speed threshold?

I have at the default. As a general observation, its kind of interesting to note that speed being the only rating that mattered was one of the long term trouble areas with this game, and now that it isn't the only thing that matters, people are choosing to tune their game back to a level where speed is once again too important.

In my opinion it makes it almost impossible for a mid to lower tier team to upset a top team, even if they out scheme and out execute them. The exaggerated speed factor demolishes X's and O's.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I wouldn't say setting it to 30 or so makes it exaggerated. It just makes it so you don't see D line guys catching up to someone.

But, jf, there's a difference now. Acceleration and Agility mean something. You can set the speed threshold to make a bigger difference in the fast and the slow, but if a guy takes a while to get up to speed, he's going to get caught, just like it should be. But a guy with 84 speed can no longer run down a guy with 94 speed when both are in full stride, which would happen on the default speed threshold.
