    Linebacker deflections and jumping

I was just wondering how everyone felt about those linebackers jumping up from seemingly no where to deflect a pass meant to go significantly further down-field?

I don't have a problem when the linebacker is back in a zone and does it, but when its a blitzing linebacker I get a little frustrated. When a linebacker is in a zone watching the QB most the time and sees the pass come his way, jumping up and deflecting is nothing out of this world. But blitzing or running with their back to the QB is a little too much sometimes.

I don't mind it for the most part though. Its better than superman linebackers. At least these linebackers are jumping 4+ feet. The highest I have seen a linebacker get up is around 2 feet which is nothing for a college athlete. I can jump 25 inches right now on my hurt ankle, but I am not because it would make me cry.

thanks for the replies! the reason i asked is i got frustrated when a hook zone linebacker 5 yards down-field blocked a pass meant to go to a wr 20 yards down-field

Don't throw a bullet. You don't have to throw a lob either. You can hold it in between and it will be a "touch" type pass. Either that or I am just imagining things. I swear its like that though. I can definitely see the difference in when I tap, Slightly Hold, and Hold the button. One is a big lob, the other is an in between ball, and the other is a straight bullet.

I havent noticed a problem. I have gotten much better at the passing game over the last few games though, I used to throw a lot of picks. But I have been paying more attention and I dont notice hardly any LBs jumping up and deflecting passes.

I'd like to see the passing game refined a bit. It seems like you just can't put that "touch" on a ball - you either float one up there or throw a straight bullet. That's not how it is in real life. Real players can throw one up so it goes over a linebacker but doesn't float in the air for 10 seconds.

The game needs more pass variety, without a doubt.

I would be more than happy to see more pass variety, completely agree.

I wonder if this is something that could be fixed with the mythical tuner ea speaks of

I don't think it's that bad. I honestly don't see this issue as anything worse than what we've had from EA. The horizontal spacing in the passing game has always been pretty good (maybe too liberal) and the vertical spacing a little too hard because of the super swat. I'd like it toned down a bit but it doesn't bother me right now. A little more arc on the ball would be nice.

It would be nice to have a slider to adjust a DB/LB ability to swat the ball when near it. The knockdown slider in NCAA 08/09 could be used for that but it's gone now.

Not too much of a problem for me. Early on it was but I starting taking 3, 5 and 7 step drops and it doesn't happen much anymore.

Too many tipped passes because of player size and range, ball physics, and lack of animations
