Re: Old Madden Ratings Site Reborn Under New Management

Just to let everyone know that the site is back up and running.

You can see the rosters that are fully updated are AZ-DAL, GB, and PIT. Please once again consider that injuries do affect a rating heavily. If a player is rated 40, he was most likely injured or is a rookie. Also keep in mind that these wholesale ratings are as of March, so much has changed since then and rookies will be a little bit higher. I will get to the other teams and will hopefully complete them by the end of next week.

Thank you for doing the Steelers roster! I made my list, of players who make the most impact on our team, in order of greatest to least. I decided my overalls for them but it's more for comparing then the actual #'s.
So, for my #'s, this would be for someone who wants them more stretched out, but since Donny Moore doesn't stretch them out much, I would add 3 overall to every player.

      Polamalu (95 ovr)
      Harrison (94 ovr)
      Woodley (92 ovr)
      Ward (90 ovr)
      Hampton (89 ovr)
      Aaron Smith (88 ovr)
      Big Ben (88 ovr)
      Miller (86 ovr)
      Mendenhall (85 ovr)
      Ike (84 ovr)
      Clark (84 ovr)
      Starks (84 ovr)
      Kemo (83 ovr)
      Farrior (82 ovr)
      Timmons (82 ovr)
      Keisel (81 ovr)
      Colon (81 ovr)
      Wallace (80 ovr)
      McFadden (79 ovr)
      Hartwig (74 ovr)
      Pouncey (74 ovr)

-Polamalu was injured a LOT and he's still the 2nd best S in the league at a 93 rating.
-Harrison is still a great OLB...and probably the best in the game.
-Hampton is still one of the best run stoppers in the league...hard to downgrade him.
-Aaron Smith was injured, hence his 43 rating...in the next update he should be up over 80.
-Ben R...still a good QB in the clutch with good numbers even though he is a bonehead.
-Miller is still a good receiving TE...and pretty solid overall.
-Be happy that we gave Mendenhall an 83...he was the 43rd best back in the league last year according to PFF.
-Ike Taylor is LUCKY to be a 78. He was the 98th best CB last season. He was 43rd in completion % when thrown at him and averaged 13 YPC against him...72nd in the league. Plus consider he had only 1 INT...57th among all CBs. Not worthy of anything over an 80.
-I have Clark one point lower than you because he wasn't very stout against the run...only average.
        - I think Starks deserves a bit more credit given his good run blocking abilities.
-No rookies over 70 just yet...so no go on Pouncey

Re: Old Madden Ratings Site Reborn Under New Management

Just to update everyone here who is interested:

The teams AZ-JAX and PIT are now complete with the offseason ratings. These ratings were compiled as of March, 2010. Some of the players who were injured will be rated quite low; possibly in the 40s. Players with a rating of 0 do not have any rating data as of yet, but will once training camps begin. Also keep in mind that some FA's or FA's who were recently signed may have some of the biggest changes for the next update. All of these ratings will change a bit during training camp battles, so feel free to check your team out and stay tuned during camps. The rest of the teams will be updated by the end of this week.

The Link to see team ratings from the pulldown menu is here, starting with the Cardinals:

                Sure,

                1. Although LT has seen a stark decline in production over the last 4 seasons, he has also been injured much more during this time period. And although he has played fewer snaps and had a declining average, he still finds his way into the endzone. He did still have 12 TDs...good enough for 5th in the league among RBs...along with no fumbles. And although he is breaking fewer tackles, it is still hard to determine with concrete evidence if the decline is due to his age or the injuries. This year with the Jets will allow us to get a better picture.

                2. Statistically, Antonio Cromartie was the 56th best CB last season. His catch % was 37th and he only gave up 2 TDs with 3 INTs. He was also very stout against the run, but struggled in pass coverage. However, he still has the physical skillset to be an impact player like he was in 2007 when he recorded 7 INTs with only 1 TD allowed. The physical skills alone make him serviceable as a CB today.

                3. Santonio Holmes is still a dangerous, speedy, receiver. His physical attributes are amazing. He was the 13th best statistical receiver last season, with a 15.8 YPC average and a 6.3 YAC average, both near the top of the league for WRs. His 8 dropped passes hurt him considerably, but his ability to also break tackles (6th in the league last season) allow him to maintain an elite rating of 90.

                  OK guys,

All of the teams are now complete. Their ratings are updated though March. There will be more rating updates to follow once training camps are underway. As for now, I have to get cracking on the 14000 free agents LOL! You can go to this link and use the pulldown menu to sort by team. Enjoy!

Sorry to do this again but just a few Chargers ratings I would like clarification on:

                    Jacques Cesaire = Luis Castillo

Jacques in effectively 6 years is averaging nearly 29 total tackles, 1.5 passes defended, nearly 2 sacks, and .5 of a forced fumble per year.

While Luis in essentially 4 seasons is averaging just under 45 total tackles, just over 1 pass defended, just over 4 sacks, is forcing .5 of a fumble a year and has 2 career interceptions.

Also Nick Novak > Nate Kaeding

Also Nick Novak > Nate Kaeding
First of all, Castillo has been HORRIBLE against the run. Among 3-4 DEs, he was second to last against it in the ENTIRE LEAGUE. Last season, both Castillo and Cesaire only had one sack each with one QB hit each. Now Castillo had far more pressures (14 to 8) but only had 2 more tackles than Cesaire. On the whole, Cesaire actually graded out slightly better than Castillo, but Castillo was the better pass rusher and Cesaire was the better run-stopper according to the internal data. So, they have similar rating OVRs, but are rated quite differently with their attributes.

The rating desparity between the kickers is because Novak was brought in on April 3rd to provide kicking duties while Kaeding was injured with a groin pull. Novak has also not played since 2008, so his rating will need to be updated and will drop during camp while Kaeding recovers. I mentioned the FA part in a previous post.

Tough questions here. As of now, all of the Madden attributes are cleared. The most recent data I have was from 2007 in the OLDgen. That being said, I have to see how the new locomotion will play into the ratings. As discussed in the "Inflation" thread, the averages for SPD, ACC, and AGI have gone up again, which throws off the normalization. Also, we are not entirely sure on what ratings will effect which positions. I am counting on someone with the game to calculate each and every attribute for every position to determine the weight of each attribute that determines the OVR rating. This will allow me to get the attributes up more quickly because it will not require me to get the game, which as of now, I will be passing on. Having the calculations will also make it easier to simply input the formulas into the SQL database so the calculations can be real-time, quick, and easy. If this is done, you can expect attributes to be entered in during the season. If not, it will deeply hinder my ability to enter in all the data by hand, which takes about 5 minutes per player. 17000 players, 5 minutes per...you do the math. With a simple formula for each position, that time is cut down to a few weeks of entry and a few minutes of processing. BINGO...it's done.

HittinAgenda has been doing some prelim work thus far, but we really need to wait for the game to get some of the kinks out. Once that is done, I need PRECISE weighting for the attributes. The attributes MUST match the OVR ratings. Once I get them, you will be able to enter them in before the season ends...but the PRECISE calculations are the key.

Do you think NCAA football will have the same weighted attributes as Madden minus the QB position? because madden has the SAC, MAC, DAC. NCAA does not
I honestly have NO idea. All I can say is that once I get the weighting and the calculations figured out, the attributes will be completed much more quickly.
