Unless i have 5 wide it always seems like the cpu will put out a 4-3 or some other set whenever i call a running play. So when running a spread offense all i have to do is audilble and take advantage of a missmatch. And it doesnt matter if i throw for 400 yards the computer always knows when i pick a run and when i pick a pass. They never adjust and seldom change. Its breaking the game for me. They force me to audible but wont call the right play in the first place... anyone else notice this? Is this better on Hiesman level?

Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
Has anyone else noticed that the computer seems to have a bad habit of calling a defense based on the actual play you pick and not on the personel?

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
Yeah, I see it too, but I also see them adjust. For instance, I call a run play, the safety is on the line. I audible to a pass, he backs off. I audible back to a run and he's blitzing again. It's hilarious to watch. -
Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
That. It's so stupid. I call a run up the middle, safety comes in. Audible it to a pitch, safety backs off a bit and moves over to the pitch side. Though i can occasionally fool the defense if I call a lot of runs up the middle out of one formation then call something outside.Comment

I see it on Heisman, not so much on AA.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
That's why I started playing on All-American this year (with some sliders bumped in the CPU's favor). I couldn't take the computer knowing exactly what play I was running any more. If the computer knows what play you're going to run, then what's the point of even mixing up your play calls? You could call the same play every down and it wouldn't really make a difference. Bottom line, the D knows what you're going to run.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
I play on AA, with sliders set to make it more challenging, and have still noticed this a lot. This has been in the game for years and probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I've also noticed that on PA passes, the D blitzes 80% of the time, which makes PA passes almost worthless because odds are you'll get sacked by the time you can even finish faking the hand off.-Ohio State-

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
Yeah I just posted basically the same thing in the patch thread. I never used to believe the guys who argued the CPU knew your play. Looks like I was wrong and EA forgot to take out the big giveaway this year. Whooops!

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
I don't think it would be so bad if the CPU knew you were running or passing if they at least came out in the correct set. I mean, it's got to be insanely hard scheduling a competent play-calling system for the defensive AI, so the easiest thing to do is just let them know your play...
But if you come out in 4-wide shotgun to run a draw, the CPU should at least come out in nickel or dime defense with a playcall designed to stop the run.
But instead, this year, not only do they come out in a 4-3, they've obviously picked the house blitz. If you're in 4-wide picked a run, and you use the right stick to quick audible to a quick pass, you'll have 4 WRs against just 3 DBs in coverage, and you can complete the pass like 90% of the time.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
This is also bad close to the goal line. If you come out to spread the field near the goal line and call a run the D comes out in a goal line defense, but if you call a pass they will come out to defend the pass. I also notice this when the CPU is on offense as well. The offense 9 out of 10 times will come out with their strong side to the opposite side of where I call my defense. For example, if I call a Nickel with man coverage, the O will put their 2-3 receivers to the opposite side of the field so I will have to flip my defense and while my nickel corner is running to the other side of the field the CPU snaps the ball. I know that this can happen, but for as often as it happens it is more than just coincidence.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
I play CPU vs CPU and all i need to do is look at the defense formation to know what my team called on offense. If I see them come out in Base D, I know my team is running the ball even if they have 3 to 4 WR.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
The cpu isn't near as bad at this as they were on ncaa 10. 10 was unplayable b/c of this. I run a one back offense, and when I'm in trips or 4 wide with a running play called, the cpu is at least in a nickel. Now they may be bringing heat, but they are respecting the personnel- this is on heisman btw.Comment

Re: Psychic playcalling is ruining Dynasty mode
I see the same thing. I run the pistol 3 and 4 reciever sets 95% of the time. I always chose a pass play, 100% of the time, everytime. From there my first read is how defenders are in the box. If less than 6, I quick audible by press down and run up the gut, if the edge is open I audible to option on the corner. If neither is open then I proceed to my orginal pass play. By doing this the defense is always guessing. I play on Heisman and I do see heavy movement from them on adjustments but you can still fool them. I have multiple plays during a game where I will go with my up the gut run audible and they only have three dl in the box and everyone else in coverage and they don't adjust and I'll break a 30yrd run up the middle. The cpu isn't near as bad at this as they were on ncaa 10. 10 was unplayable b/c of this.
