I'm in that same boat too. I agonized over it. If I hadn't found that $20 off deal on Dell.com I'd still be at a loss. But I haven't looked back. I looked for any reason, just one compelling reason to drop $60 on Madden and for the life of me, I still can't find one. All of the videos I have seen from Madden has looked like more of the same and the early demo review confirms it. I mean, the pass rush is still ineffective, how does is that still happening?

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
Its time everybody starts showing EA who boss. By you not purchasing the game its sending a message to EA. We are not going to take this crap you release to us. You removed features like mud on the uniform, field getting mess up.Also we can't Change the size and shapes of the players models. EA you have not incorporated any new technology like Euphoria technology.Last year you started to make a really good effort Ian Cummings was on this form all the time. It was the first time I ever seen a Dev keep the customers informed in what he is doing. This year I haven't seen one thread from Ian Cummings, he used to respond to people posting. Now there is no connection. I just feel that they should just have a open form and talk about Madden 12. I will not pay for something that looks the same from last year. I can just update the roster. No 80 man rosters in franchise yet for preseason ?Comment

Not really bothered by your comments, sounds like any one who likes madden and plays it regularly will love it. Same is not always a bad thing guys, I mean would you want your girlfriend to just start doing a whole lot of new things?(GameBreaker) you wouldnt recognize her, you'd have to adjust..
.If she just started a new workout program (locomotion) and acted more cheery (Gus Johnson) and got straight to the point (gameflow) and stopped speeding (no turbo)....you'd like your girlfriend just the same, without major changes
did I just analagize madden with your girlfriend? yes I did...Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
Well the Human D Pass rush can be tuned a little in a patch along with tuning the AI QB a little bit not to get rid of the ball every little time you get near him to sack him. Both of these can be patched if enough people complain about to EA before the first patch.
Okay, maybe this is a little off topic but does anyone else see that? This post has just gone by without comment. Is it not a little strange or worrying that we just absolutely accept that the game will not be finished when we buy it and that there'll have to be a patch?
I know that this is just the state of modern gaming and I know it's not just Madden but really, if you stop to think about it, it's shocking what we let them get away with these days.Comment

From reading that I get the impression gameflow and locomotion in Madden is a bust. That would be a disaster for the game.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
Just play the demo guys and see what you think after that. I was really disappointed after reading the impressions on here, but after watching shopmaster play the demo I can't wait to play it on Tuesday and August 10th can't come soon enough!!!Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
Agree 100%. An to go further on that point how did they let M10 out with all the glaring bugs last year. The quality checkers did not notice the stats being off? Why doesn't EA do a beta test with the community like other games do, mostly 1st person shooters but still? Oh wait, I think the above guy nailed it. We basically are the beta test and they just patch everything.Okay, maybe this is a little off topic but does anyone else see that? This post has just gone by without comment. Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
From CD, I had a good idea what I would think about the game. This sounds like what I would've said, minus specifics that I look for. And I haven't played NCAA to compare.
Chris, care to expound on some things?
Passing game & separation: Was the separation explained by the animations? Were DBs still consistently breaking before WRs? Did better WRs seem to get more separation? Has the footwork in & out of breaks addressed at all? Fix or band-aid?
You covered fans & haters. What about those simply disappointed in Madden's lack of simulation of the sport? Anything crucial to fundamentals of the sport added?
You seem as unsatisfied playing defense as I have been. Christian mentioned somethings I've had a problem with... playing d-line. I always felt there weren't enough animations, and the AI was lacking. Anything new here at all? Any edge rushing animations added? Any new blocking interaction animations at all? Any engaged player mobility?Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Roundtable
To me, the funny thing about this quote is that the improvements from NCAA10-NCAA11 are so drastic because NCAA10 was much like Madden 09/NCAA09. The big "feature" for NCAA10 was the marching band. NCAA11 garnered a lot of the improvements from Madden 10 such as variable speed settings and presentation along with the Madden 11 improvements all rolled into one package that drops before Madden 11 mixed in with some NCAA specific improvements as well.Christian: Right now, based on the demo, I'm calling it a push, teetering on the brink of going down. I'm really not liking Gameflow but thankfully that option can be turned off. Outside of that personal preference, there really are no glaring issues that would make me believe the retail version of the game will not be a solid NFL experience, I'm just not sure what was added to the game is enough to really differentiate it from Madden 10. I was really hoping for the NCAA10-NCAA11 type of leap for Madden this season, and based on the demo I'm not sure that's what we will be getting in a couple weeks.
I wish NCAA copied more things from Madden. Things like the additional QB ratings or having non-hurry up offenses use accelerated clock. I also want Madden to take some things from NCAA, most note worthy is how hurry up/spread offenses are run. I like how in NCAA when you call the hurry up it brings up the play call screne for both offense and defense, but forces you to stick with one formation. You can still audible into another formation from your audibles, but this better represents the Hurry up imo. I don't like how in Madden 11, if you try to run the no-hudle with the Colts, they get dog tired after like 3 plays.
I think that this year, with the vast improvements from NCAA10-NCAA11, Madden's "thunder" was stolen. NCAA's "franchise" appears to be deeper than Madden's and I prefer the 120 "ways to win" over Madden's Gameflow so far. On the other hand, I think Gus Johnson will be better than NCAA's lack of Lee Corso, I prefer the NFL over the BS that is college football, and hopefully things like the run game/run defense will be better tuned than it's NCAA counterpart.Comment
