I'd like to give you a happier answer, but I think it does take some time. Can't speak for anyone else but it took me 80-90 games to get some sliders that were good enough to allow me to start a realistic franchise.

One trick I did learn was to start a 32 team franchise and just play through all the games for the first 4 weeks or so. After every 8 games I would look at the average stats generated and adjust sliders accordingly.

You could always take some off the shelf sliders here at OS. But everyone plays different and to be honest I find it easier to create my own based on my own gameplay skills.

Remember sliders will also need to be reconfigured after each patch. So whichever set you go for may not be ready till Xmas!
