Non-TV games on TV
Why is it that every game played now is a T.V. broadcast, even when the schedule shows the game won't be televised.

Re: Non-TV games on TV
Agreed. Sometimes having that PA announcer the entire game gets really old really fast. I like the regular commentary, like you said, to help the overall experience.Comment

Re: Non-TV games on TV
I liked that too in the olden days... where you'd have no TV / no rollovers, etc., it made the big games feel more special.
But c'est la vie. I wish they left it in as an option... "Variable Presentation" or somethingComment

Re: Non-TV games on TV
always kind of looked forward to the non televised for some reason, probably just a change up on things.
can't believe they added commentary."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

Re: Non-TV games on TV
I only have a PA announcer in all my games, but that's on purpose. I think I stopped listening to the commentators back in NCAA 06.Last edited by jfsolo; 07-25-2010, 04:42 PM.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Are you guys serious? I couldn't stand to play a game without commentary.Comment

Re: Non-TV games on TV
I can't stand to play the game with it. We always talk about immersion here. The mind numbingly repetitive nature of the commentary takes me out the game much, much more than having just the PA announcer.
I don't use the commentary in any sports game anymore, I'm not sure that it will ever be dynamic enough for me to leave it own.
Also, I know that many people here are enamored with the Broadcast presentation style, but I prefer the on the field style myself, so you can see why I would ditch the commentary.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Non-TV games on TV
I always play bad teams so I am not used to the commentators at all really. At first I was a little annoyed because it kind of kills the experience. It makes it not so special. I remember when playing a dynasty, getting a game with commentary was something to look forward to like a new star level or being able to get better recruits.
After that though, I thought it was ok since it is somewhat interesting to listen to
But now, after hearing it in every game, there is just way too much repetition.
Someone in another thread had a great idea with maybe getting different commentating teams to do different games. Like, you could have a couple of ESPN games with the ones now then one with CBS or ABC(whichever owns ESPN or whatnot) to do another and then maybe have one for a regional station and then do some radio. Tha twould be very sweet. It would help the problem of having to listen to the robot stadium caller but not make it seem like every game you have is the "big game".Comment

i liked the old way, so i do it now, i just turn off the commentary if its a non-tv game, and for tv-games it goes back onComment
