It seems at least to me that NCAA All American level out of box with no slider adjustments is much harder then all pro on madden out of box. Also, I feel like I am at a funeral with crowd noise in Madden compared to the atmosphere in the NCAA Game. Just my 2 cents.

It never fails with an EA game. Something always ruins the experience. This Strategy Pad Idea has to be the worst idea brought to this franchise in it's 20 plus years.
If I had to judge between this and NCAA 11 based off this demo it would be NCAA 11 by a LANDSLIDE. The Pad simply kills it for me. No time to do anything. Why???The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

I am really wanting someone who has the game, compare it to the demo. So far:
Likes:
- The teams resemble how they play in real life
- Good pass rush
- CPU playing as Manning had trouble throwing the ball even on all-madden (13/20 200 yards 2 TD's and 1 INT)
- grass looks awesome and shadows are impressive looking
- lighting
- commentary is energetic
- J E T S chant sounds cool, and crowd noise sounds awesome until it becomes really quiet between plays
- oline blocking is improved a lot
- hits after player catches football looks pretty awesome, even got hurt by Clark when Cromartie INT it in end zone
- didn't feel cheated on all-madden when I lost 21-10
- gameplay is ok, thought I would like it more. It definitely makes game go quicker.
- WR / DB interaction
Dislikes:
- players models seemed to take a step back
- strategy pad is awful, although I am getting better at it, and at least leaves there to be less exploits when playing online, as it takes longer
- no depth chart or player stats in demo
- too many injuries
- too many fumbles
- players seem to move too slow, compared to game (normal speed)
- locomotion not as good as NCAA 11'sLast edited by at23steelers; 07-27-2010, 08:02 AM.Have an awesome day!!Comment

Yeah, I think people are crapping prematurely on Madden. The strategy pad warrants the criticism, but the demo has only been out a couple hours lol. How can you declare that NCAA blows this out of the water so fast?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
In a word- AWFUL!
Next gen Maddens have sucked and Madden 10 was the first Madden I had bought in years. I downloaded both demo's last year and loved the game, finally they had made a pretty decent next gen Madden. I went out and bought Madden 10 and really enjoyed.
There is NOTHING about Madden 11's demo that would cause me to go out and buy this game.
I played the hell outta the NCAA 11 demo and loved it and could not wait to get the game. I'm loving NCAA 11 and there is nothing about that game that really bothers me. It's a blast to play.
NCAA 11 is the hands down winner this year and I won't waste anymore of my time playing the Madden 11 demo. The good news is I just freed up 1.4 gigs of HD space on my 360.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
It is a demo impression. It is a bit unfair to judge a final release of a game vs a demo, but I am one of those who feels because of NCAA and this demo, I will not buy madden this year unless I hear amazing things about the final release.
Also the Old Spics ADs are ridiculous.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights
NCAAF: Ohio State
NFL: Minnesota Vikings
MLB: Chicago CubsComment

Haven't had a fumble or int yet. Good thing though Revis had one hit him right in the hands, and he dropped it. Not!NFL - Dallas Cowboys, MLB - NY Yankees

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
Im just going to compare to NCAA.
Locomotion - Madden [ ] NCAA [x]
Madden locomotion feels half assed, in NCAA the animations are smooth fluid and you feel the weight of your players, in Madden it feels exactly like madden 10 while lugging a 40 pound weight behind your players.
Animation - Madden [ ] NCAA [x]
NCAA has fluid and realistic looking animations, great sideline catches, DB's don't swat balls down without looking at them, and usually when they try its a blown coverage.
In Madden, running looks robotic and animations are choppy. On the first run play I did i got a 3 yard gain ran into a defender, my player slid to the side and sucked into a defender and cut from one position into a new one to play a tackle animation.
Also in the madden demo, when throwing passes, Quarterbacks dont set their feet, i threw a deep bomb with Manning out of the 5 step drop and he hucks it without any throwing animation while standing still. The only thing that animated was his arm. Every time you throw deep in NCAA the QB sets his feet and throws his hips into it and the animation finishes even after the throw every time.
Gameplay - Madden [ ] NCAA [x]
Madden's strategy pad is horrendous, previously in Madden games you could hit 2 buttons to make a defensive change, now its a string of menu's from the directional pad, and good luck starting from scratch if you hit the wrong thing.
Maddens gameplay is an exact duplicate of Madden 10 with locomotion (nowhere near as good as NCAA's) and gameflow which i got sick of after 5 straight plays where the guy called like 5 straight deep passes. Suction blocking and tackles, no real gang tackling to be seen, dissapointing.
I dont think i need to explain much more.
NCAA 11 is the best football game of this generation of consoles and Madden is the same madden with some frustrating changes to pre-play controls..Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
Well I have already got/played the full version so these are my pros and cons.
Pros
-Catch debugging tool works lots of catch animations.
-Gus Johnson is excellent. You wont get pauses in commentary in full version.
-Graphics are best in the series for Madden.
-Deep ball is back.
-So far the cpu has challenged the correct rulings.
Cons
-Run blocking is not as good as NCAA.
-Ball travels too slow in the air.
-AI rubberband still there.
-I cant find out how to do hot routes there is no instructions on how to do it. Not even on game controls.
-Locomotion not as good as NCAA.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
For me a huge plus is the DB's don't know where the ball is going before the receiver does. Unlike in NCAA I feel that is a huge issue.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
Main reason the crowd is quite at times is that they had to edited and take out alot of the announcing and stuff so the demo would download faster. It will be fine in the final versionComment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
Having played both the only difference between the demo and retail is the crowd noise. For some reason in the demo crowd noise is bugged out. If you like the demo get the game, if you don't pass on the game, unless they day 1 patch the game, what you see in the demo is what you will get when you purchase the full game.Comment
