Completely disagree on pretty much all of what you said but really disagree on the commentary.

The presentation is not spot on otherwise we'd have a halftime highlight show with commentary guys. Cmon.

Being a harsh critic of Madden (And rightfully so the past 6 years), I was actually excited to play Madden after playing the NCAA demo. The fluid gameplay in NCAA impressed me and the game felt exciting. After playing the Madden 11 demo, I am completely deflated. Felt exactly like past games and it was incredibly boring. There are times when the crowd noise just goes away entirely, even if the score is tied or you are winning as the Jets. The commentary is very disjointed and disappointing. The animations are very jerky and stutter a lot. The strategy pad is an **** fail on defense because once again, the cpu QB snaps the ball immediately after getting to the line. An embarrassing flaw since it was a problem for the past few years. Now it's back. The warping WRs and LBs ARE still in the game. To be honest, I didn't find much of anything good to say about it.

Like I said, I really thought the NCAA gameplay was outstanding so I was really excited for Madden. Played nothing like it. Not smooth like NCAA and the player models didn't look nearly as good. Considering this was the year of gameplay I find that pretty frightening. Maybe they did some work, but the game doesn't feel any different and it doesn't show in the final product.

          quick summary:

          - CPU quick snap
          - impossible to get to the QB without him getting rid of it
poor throwing animation from Peyton Manning (looks like he is throwing off his back foot every time)
          - Stuttering animations
          - no fluid control like NCAA has
          - disjointed commentary
          - moon ball still there when passing
          - leaping LBs are back

I might jump on the NCAA bandwagon even though I'm not much of a college football fan. Great job by the NCAA team this year. Madden team, not so much.
To me the demo and the full version feel and play a LOT different, the demo seems to be running on either old code or just a slapped together version.

The devs at NCAA 11 asked a lot of players what they wanted as far as the play selection screen, and the result is in this year's game, and you got no complaints from anyone. But as far as the "strategy pad"? Seriously, I'll ask again. Who was it that was asking for the audible controls to be changed? Where did this idea come from? You know anyone that wanted this? Why did they change it? Just for change sake? I'm sure Ian and the Madden devs have heard "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but maybe they think they know better.

Oh oh. Replays are shorter. Hope we get full replays in the retail game. One good thing is I haven't seen those dreadful cut scenes of the refs conferencing to determine if a TD is a TD or not, and every replay I see he actually enters the end zone again. Kudos to them for realizing that was a mistake and unnecessary. (Now watch it show up in the retail version - Lol.)

As well as it should be. IMO the whole point of getting Gameplanning was to fix the terrible Ask Madden...(Now called Gameflow to simulate and O coordinator calling plays)..... by letting us pick the plays for each situation.

I like the idea and reasoning behind it.

Madden's locomotion just feels awkward and lame, and the player interaction on tackles does not seem nearly as polished as NCAA.

The commentary is pretty boring, long pauses and just awkward yelling from gus johnson on play calls.

The camera seems really far back also in comparison to NCAA, and can be a pain in the running game.

The only thing I really did like about this game is the lighting, the grass/turf looks real, and the passing game seems good.

Overall this game isn't worth the buy, NCAA is solid and does everything better, which is surprising considering it's record the past few years.

This is how I feel. Plus NCAA didn't add the D-pad adjustments. At least madden should have given players the option of the old trigger options or the D-Pad. I thought it was simpler and deeper. The D-pad is definitely more steps to move players around, and it's easy to press the D-pad in the wrong direction and move your coverage when you wanted to move your DLine etc. With all the stuff they could have worked on they thought this needed fixing??

Even in the full version the commentary is too quiet at times. While I do like Gus Johnson, it's too much dead air. Also on the highlights of the half quarters and end of the game, could they at least have some type of commentary??

I do like how they let you skip through the chain gang animations. I also like the replay of the infraction playing when you get to chose whether to accept or decline a penalty.

Another strange thing is how the opposing sideline appears to be cheering during replays when you are running for a TD.

After xbox 360 solves the heat problem on the new console, or when I can find another Elite 360 that's not bundled up, I'm gonna put this ps3 on ebay. I've been up half the night looking 4 M11's demo, and I just found out (@ 9am cdt) that it wont be available until this afternoon, well that nailed it 4 me and the ps3, I've had it. The graphics on the 360 are better, my games never shut down during play, and xbox was always 1st with demos. Why did I switch? My son's died twice, (red lights) so being the good dad that I am, I gave him mine...So I'll check it out 2nite

My whole purpose of the demo now is to try and get use to this idiotic strategy pad i dont recall one person complaining about audibles and hot routes in the past so why in the hell would they change it to this. SMDH!!!

Maybe im in the minority but i think the Madden demo plays better than NCAA 11 hands down. It just feels more polished to me. Can't really put my finger on it but im really liking Madden this year based off the demo.

LOL that may be true. It wouldn't be a pain if the cpu QB didn't snap the ball right after they get to the line.

I smell a new feature for madden 12 presenting our all new pre snap adjustments they messed it up on purpose. I do like gus johnson even if he does sound spliced in ive heard some funny things so far like "Greene breaks a tackle Oh and he is off Feet dont fail me now

+ I actually like the gameflow a lot.
+ IMO, the gameplay and locomotion is smoother in Madden than NCAA
+ Passing is decent. I like the receiver moves to get separation. Seems to be less WR and DB warping than in NCAA. Trajectory of the ball seems good.
+ LOVING Gus Johnsons enthusiasm on big plays.
                            + Some awesome catch animations

                            - D Pad strategy pad needs to take a hike.
                            - Gus and Chris have zero chemistry.
                            - Horrid transition animations..herky jerky
                            - Lots of repetitive cut-scenes. Need a ton more variety.
                            - Crowd noise is almost absent at times where they should be going nuts.

Overall, I like it more than NCAA 2011. I may trade in that game for this one.

After playing 3 games in the last few hours. I have to say I've finally got use to the Strategy pad and no longer have a problem using it on D. It just about knowing what you want to and hitting before the AI snaps the ball. But overall I think the Strategy pad will work out when you get use to it. Now the only other problem I have is the AI throwing the ball away right as you get to him. I'm sure that can be adjusted easy.
