Looks like everyone can relax just like SB said in the final version. The awful strategy pad can be turned off.
You can turn off the icon that blocks the screen (this is a must because can't see the action especially on the defensive side of the ball) but you still have to use the D-pad to make the adjustments.

The Strategy pad and kick meter are let downs for me so far. I'm still giving gameflow a chance. I'm going to set it like the old style in letting me chose my playbook, and the gameflow in place of "ask madden" If that is the case then my situational plays will show up there and that would be awesome. Time to do some research if this is in fact possible.

youtube some retail game play. i have, and i think it looks and sounds pretty good. and this is coming from someone that has literally hated all current gen versions. they must have actually spent some time with the audio this year. a player clapped during a TD celebration, and you could actually hear it. i don't remember that level of audio detail in 10.
My score for Madden 13: 4.5/10

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.

Played one game, it was OK, I used the Jets. The running game and blocking is definitely improved. I don't want to sound like a ***** but I agree with the people who said the game just feels stale, to me it's just the same old Madden that it has been since the PS2 days. I don't really notice a difference. It looks nicer the lighting is better and it seems brighter but gameplay is just meh to me. This is when NCAA coming out first hurts Madden. The few gameplay improvements I've noticed so far would look a lot cooler if I hadn't seen them already in a finished retail game for 3 weeks.

Instead of really getting down and dirty with the AI and fixing all weird stuff that happens they just came up with a couple gimmicks to hide the mistakes it still makes. Instead of figuring out how to get rid of nanos they just made it harder to do them in the pre snap menus. Instead of fixing the AI so all the same routes that have always worked in Madden can be defended against by the CPU they just recommend you use gameflow so that the computer picks different plays for you.

In the end it doesn't really matter what I think right now. I love football I've bought every Madden since about '01 and I'll buy it this year and have fun with it but I've noticed I've stopped playing the game entirely earlier and earlier the past couple years. Instead of ripping through a season in 2 or 3 days it takes 2 or 3 weeks to finish up a season. Instead of sitting around for 2 or 3 hours and just playing game after game online I'll play a game or two and then turn it off. I don't have that feeling when I'm not home that I just want to get home and play Madden. Instead it's go to work or go out, come home, watch some TV, surf the web for a while then if I'm in the mood play a game or two.

Yea yall I have the real game and the gameplay isn't as fast as madden 10 I love the flow of the game the only thing that is kind of difficult is the way u audible and hotroute offense and dfense players to do certain assignments other than that I think EA should patch the gang tackle issue like last year when the game first came out it was to easy to break out of 3 and 4 man gang tackles like ADRIAN PETERSON he is incredible hulk on the game the only down side on him is his carrying at a 62

If Madden 11 plays anything like the demo then it has gotten worse since Madden 10.

Pro-Tak - seems to be gone. Didn't see one gang tackle in 2 demo games.

Locomotion - not the game changer they said it would be

Audio - Why does it go silent when I am at the LOS ready to snap the ball? No fan noise, no nothing. Gus seems to have a more pep then Tom but his enthusiasm seems out of place/disjointed from the action.

Gameflow - Letting the CPU run things is a mess. You would have to set up a gameplan to use this. Coordinator audio is something that needs to be turned off immediately.

Its likely your mic settings since its a new mic. Go to the PS3 main menu and adjust your mic settings. Check the volume maybe.

One other thing, I am glad they finally switched the kicking game back to the 3 click. It's worked perfectly fine for me and now it's at least possible to botch a kick it seems like because before with the R stick unless your kicker was awful or there was a lot of wind anything inside 45 and usually yards was automatic.

                    My 1st half impressions.

I still have Madden 10 and I'm still playing it. So, this is what I will compare it to, not NCAA 11 like so many people have.

It's night and day better than 10.

                    1. The running game is so much better, including the CPU running game. If you follow your blocks, you should have a good running attack.

                    2. The draw play gained positive yds instead of negative yards.

                    3. Locomotion makes a big impact on 11.

                    4. Gus Johnson huge upgrade over Tom Hammond. Love the excitement vs the ho hum drum of Hammond.

                    5. The teams play like they do in real life. The Colts passed most of the time and the Jets ran most of the time.

                    6. The chain gang is much better this year.

                    7. Wr catches are spot on this year.

                    8. Gameplanning works nicely.

                    9. Jets sacked Manning vs last year duck throw.

                    10. Crowd chants are a nice welcome.

                    11. Replays are much better this year and much welcomed.

                    Negatives

                    1. Camera is too far back on passing plays and on defense. Cmon EA, get that defensive camera lock from your neighbors in the same building.

                    2. Strategy Pad- I started getting used to it after awhile. To me, it's just one extra step. Like anything new, it takes time adjusting to.

                    3. Some skating still evident.

                    4. Only saw one LB swat during the half, so, I need more time with this.

                    5. Kicking meter. Harder for me to adjust than kicking meter.

Compared to 10, it's not even close.

I cut my gaming back to two games per year. NCAA was the first one I bought and Madden will definitely be the next one.

I haven't played the demo becuz I got the game 2 days ago so I don't no the experience of how it is but the actuall game feels pretty nice it does has it madden 10 feel a little but it is a totally different game I just wish they would of kept the offensive and defensive audibling and hot routing the same as madden 10 it just takes to long to adjust for a game that they speeded up so much

                        - I could not get a run game going, but maybe it's just the Colts.

                        - What I love in the Gameplan/Gameflow is that the team really feels like itself. Letting the CPU pick the plays, it was a ton of streaks and deep outs, very Colts. Having teams play like themselves is huge.

                        - The presentation is awful. Just the menus, popups, etc. NCAA seems so much sleeker and more modern, this feels like the overwrought crap of NFL FEVER days.

                        - Gus is great, but the mix is really off. Doesn't sound like he's in the stadium, or anywhere near Chris.

                        - Kick meter is a bit of a disappointment, I understand what they are going for - modeling kickers a bit better - but a three-click seems like a big step backwards.

                        - Strategy Pad will be fine. Give it time, and get to know what you want to do, instead of assuming you can read menus while the offense politely allows you to make adjustments.

Why is it that on the All-Madden difficulty, 99.9% of the time the computer breaks at least one tackle before it can be brought down. I know All-Madden is supposed to be difficult but it's ridiculous to know that a broken tackle is coming before contact is even made. Hopefully sliders can fix this problem.

Not sure but to me turn off means exactly that TURN OFF as in no adjustments. I don't take turn off to mean revert to old way of doing it.
