No they say they take input from madden all the time. They say that gameflow was an idea from maddenComment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
The posts are going so fast, I think my post is buried so I will ask again.
The part I am asking about is "but because of the inability to adjust human sliders". Is this just a demo thing? Or is it going to be this way also in the final retail version as well? If I remember correctly, it was something like this in Madden 09 as well where you could only adjust one set of sliders (can't remember if it was the cpu or human).Comment

Thank you for telling me this. My worst fear has been realized.i just got tha full game a couple days ago. There's good news and bad news about that option...YES you can turn the strategy pad off, BUT all that does is take tha icon off tha screen when you play, but it doesn't change tha controls back to tha old way.
I'm with others, I have no idea why after all these years they decided to change tha way you call pre-snap adjustments. I've played about a dozen games since getting tha game and like others have said you do start to get used to it, but it just doesn't "flow" as easy as tha old way does.(if that makes sense)
I was so gassed when Skyboxer and Ezio posted that link too, trying to imply that we could change it back to the old way...
They need to patch this the way they patched Fight Night 4 with the button controls for jabbing, etc. Besides with the eternal optimists, there is going to be a huge community backlash.
yea because video tells us how a game feels when we PLAY it. :/
--------
For a madden veteran, it is very obvious that they added the strategy pad to combat their sloppy a.i. and the cheesers. So they take control AWAY from us in order to make up for the ineptitude as far as the game's ai? BRILLIANT!
I will play the retail before making any other judgements, this is obviously a watered down version and i don't think it's fair to make a comparison to NCAA yet. Rest assured, i won't be just looking at 'video' to make my final purchasing decision. I love to micromanage and NCAA seems to have the one up there this year, and the strategy pad is making this a no go for me day 1 for the first time since 1993 when i was 10 years old.
edit: it has nothing to do with 'getting used to' if i could make an analogy it's like playing a piano, try playing 32nd notes on 1 key then try playing 32nd notes on two keys. The latter is a lot easier. Taking away half the controller for presnap adjustments is not intuitive, it's counterproductive and cumbersome.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Demo Available Now, Please Post Impressions Here
Gameflow is a little more realistic and based on what an NFL coaching staff does. They prepare for a game and usually map out anywhere between 15-30 plays with various formations and use that gameplan on game day. In theory, Gameplan setup is basically making you take certain plays to formulate that weekly gameplan like an NFL team. These are the plays they would have worked on the most in practice and should be used. NFL teams sometimes will break away from that gameplan which is why you can choose to do so in the game.
To me, that's pretty realistic based on real life football practice and weekly planning. I just hope it isn't extremely time consuming on a game to game basis. Sometimes I only have time to play one game a day.
Now, for the love of GOD, can someone please tell me if you can do two player coop in the demo?!

Please read the thread, folks. Why can't the announcing be fixed? Why? Why? ahhhhhhhhhhhh! With all your money EA just get collinsworth in the booth to re-record everything with gus and make it sound real! Why is this hard?? You guys never answer this ever!!!
How dare you guys give us a new copy of madden where collinsworth calls gus "tom"!!! Really? Man I know I could get banned for attacking the poor developers but they are insulting me and my intelligence! Put some effort in please!
Collingsworth calling Gus Tom is in the demo, but not in the final build. Ian mentioned this on Twitter a few days ago.
Also, I'm 48 yrs old, probably more than double the age of some people on here, and I'm having no problems with strategy pad. I stumbled a few times out of the gate, but if I can handle it, every one else should be able to handle it.Comment

I can make anywhere from 4-8 adjustments per play, especially if i decide to come out in a base formation and make adjustments at the line of scrimmage the way a real defense does depending on the reads and mismatches. It was difficult before, now it is impossible. Please read the thread, folks.

and you can forget about individual adjustments on defense as well. maybe this doesn't bother you as much as it does me, but for someone who derives almost all his football playing pleasure from the x's and o's, this is killing me.
