Caters Too Heavily To New Users And Kids!

I honestly do not even know what to say. As a Madden fan for years, making sure each copy is pre-ordered since Madden 2001, this will be the first time I will not buy Madden. This game caters too heavily to noobs, and takes absolutely no skill whatsoever to be good at.To play defense, you hold down the A button? I mean come on.

Did you skip last year? The "A" button on defense did the same thing.

yeah once they introduce "rewind" i knew it was downhill from there. This is the reason everyone is complaining they claim they listen to us they did with dumb stuff like field goal nets and nasal strips. I know its hard to make a game i appreciate the effort but i don't appreciate the excuses Madden 06 i give them a pass but they had 4 now 5 games after that to make a huge leap with no competition no they wasted it with gimmicks that cater to the casual gamer now they are scrambling to fix franchise if they did that from the beggining who know where we will be. I know Ian wasn't in charge then I like the direction he is taking us in relation to franchise but he must take a risk and change the game engine. Its outdated period. i know its a lot to ask to scrap a game engine and start from scratch but thats what they have to do.

Noobs huh. Go play on All-Pro tell me the score, then play on All-Madden and then tell me the score. I'm not certain but I'm sure as a long time madden fan you will have struggles with both modes. It's for noobs because defensive assist? It was in 10 too! Everyone is judging a game off of a DEMO! There are already improvements on the retail copy. And most of us have YET to use our FAVORITE TEAMS! Woo ! None of us have played franchise mode, so how do we know what it's like? Just because they said they didn't do anything to it doesn't mean that. What if they wanted to suprise us, or they just changed a few things in it. It's better than re-making an entire game then hear oh why'd they take that out, and that's stupid. Play Madden or don't stop complaining. It's not for new users, New users wouldn
t even begin to know where to start, what routes do what, what audibles are good, what to do vs man, if the flats are good. People can only be good at Madden if they play each year, learning the new features as they input them in each game. Stop playing madden for 10 years and buy 2021. You wouldn't know where to begin. It's a good game, let's have fun.

I have to agree with this. I will be getting the game but it does feel like it's for noobs. Why the big thing to cut the game time down who plays video games in a rush this is supposed to be relaxing.

I am hoping that this cut game time down allows me to actually play more. If they would just put in game saves back in that would be better but, I don't have 1 plus hours to play all the time
            Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

In games saves back would be nice I used to use that a lot back in the day.

I don't think "caters" is the right word at all or even really a legitimate argument.

I think without a doubt they are (and have been for a couple years now) trying to make it easier to pick up and play for the casual fan. And that is okay as long as it doesn't impact the way long time users have always played the game.

For years, additions they have made to improve this for casual users has always been optional (rewind?). I'll hold out judgment on the strategy pad until I use it or see how it is implemented but if true, I'm not happy about not being able to utilize the old pre-play options.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with improving the pick up and play ability as long as the core of the game remains the same which for the most part remains true.

Well, i can say that, through playing Madden 10, I've become a much better passer, even giving people like Trent Edwards pretty respectable numbers (I play on My Skill, by the way).

TBH, If you are good and know how to play D, then you cannot really complain. Just get good at it.

                      Don't use the features.

I really like the quick play options for kick off, punt, etc. REALLY saves time.

The gameplanning really caters to us long time players. We can deep into strategizing and knock ourselves out.

Saying it caters to new users and kids is looking at only half the features and kinda knee-jerk. There's FAR more depth than ever for us "hardcore ballas" or whatever we're supposedly called.
Don't look back too long and don't look too far ahead.

I have to defend ea a little. there is nothing wrong with making the game accessible. Look at froza 3 there are a ton of assists you can use, if you're not a hardcore race fan it makes the game fun for everbody. If you don't want to use assists don't use them, they are optional. I'm just tired of the same broken engine that started in the 06 version. EA really should just start over, and realize with the current engine they will never live up to the video they showed prior to next gen.

Then I hope the retail version lets us put the controls back to Madden 10 style.

Instead of filling the forum with threads about how unimpressed you are, (god knows how many of those there are/will b) do some sit-ups or something constructive.
