Do you ever hope you lose?
So I'm undefeated in my offline, but with several close games. Now Texas comes to Lincoln, and I know they have better overall talent than I do. In the past, I could almost win every game I wanted to, and would occasionally try to lose if I thought it was realistic.

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I've been using footballfanatics new sliders and in my first game against Michigan I lost using UCONN, 30-20. -

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I usually want to lose games that Miami realistically might lose, but while playing those games I don't hope to lose them. In ym Online Dynasty I am 1-2 with Miami. I was kind of glad I lost to Ohio State, because it might actually happen, but I didn't get a bit happy at anytime after losing to Pitt because I was the better overall team and they won because of a few "cheap" plays. Their TE out ran my defense for a 70 yard gain on a 4 yard pass. That should not have happened and ended up causing me to lose the game. Miami has a very fast defense and my DE's are faster than most teams TE's. My DBs should have definitely chased him down after 10 yards, not 70.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I want to lose games that I should so I use sliders that allow that to happen.Favorite Teams:

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
This year the right balance with sliders seems possible. I've had my arse handed to me a few times by better teams, had to fight tooth and nail for slim victories against more equal teams, and have been able to dominate weaker teams. I've been using a modified set of Silent Nature's AA sliders.Comment

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I feel where the OP is coming from. I'm two games from finishing the regular season of my offline dynasty with Louisville and I've lost four games total. My defense is so atrocious that I usually have to outscore the CPU, however; I'm usually able to do that.
I usually audible at the line to run the opposite play, or I'll audible to a pass if the D is showing they're keying the run. Unfortunately, they make it too obvious and tip their hand.
I guess my major grief is that the CPU makes it too easy to know what they're doing that it's almost frustrating because I don't want to be an idiot and just get creamed on the play, but I also know that sometimes it's a guaranteed touchdown if I audible to a deep pass when the entire defense creeps up for the run.Comment

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I do hope I lose, and that's why I make my sliders challenging.
I rarely audible and I do NOT exploit the game. Yea I could pump fake every time in hopes somebody bites, but I don't..etc.
I'm 4-0 with Arizona so far and yes, I did beat Iowa 28-10 but it was in Arizona. I then got by Cal 41-31 after they had a 21-3 lead.
All I know is that I do try and win every game by playing honest football and not using exploits. With Arizona I hope that I have made the sliders challenging enough so the CPU can beat me a few games. If I go undefeated I can live with me playing really well and getting some lucky breaks.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I don't hope I lose but hope the game is a challange. I just hope I don't get a blow out. Been playing this game since 98 so its hard to find the right sliders. I think I have some good ones this year and been getting good games.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I never hope to lose, but to get the sliders I want to use nailed down, realistically I try to make is so I lose to better teams more than half the time and lose to even teams sometimes as well. A team that is slightly worse than me should be able to beat me occasionally if I don't play well.
Right now I am just playing some test dynasties with a version of Playmakers sliders until the recruiting/progression fix arrives.
Really getting some pretty good results with the Michigan test dynasty I am doing. 6-3 right now with a wide variety of outcomes. Beat UCONN and ND in close games, blew out Bowling Green and the generic FCS teams , got upset against Indiana 17-14 when I didn't play well, lost to MSU 34-27 after being up 21-3 at one point( slacked off too much after I got the big lead, even for a test dynasty this one hurt), upset Iowa 28-20 with help from turnovers, lost to Penn State 17-10 and then handled Illinois rather easily. My Teams

NHL: Detroit Red Wings
NBA:Detroit Pistons
MLB: Detroit TigersComment

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I never try to lose a game. It is apart of my nature, it is who I am.........I was born to win! Now that we got that out of the way, I usually lose the games I am suppose to win
So I need those games against Littletown Arkansas and the Rode Island Rockets!
I am a winner...........I am a winner.......repeat after me.......I am a winner!

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?
I agree. If I lose, I don't want to feel cheated, but at the same time I want a challenge. On Heisman, most of the time that I lose it feels like I got cheated. I've made some sliders that fit my abilities and I am currently 21-3 in my dynasty. I've won quite a few close ones that I could have easily lost. That said, I do not want to win the National Championship every year unless I deserve it, so I defiantly can see where the thread creator is coming from.Comment
