Re: NBA 2K11 Preview and New Screenshots (IGN)
enjoyed what I read. Not the biggest NBA fan, but after playing 2k10 at a friends house on several occasions, and the fact that Jordan is in this year's game, I am picking this game up. Actually, since it releases on my birthday, I'm getting it for as a present.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: NBA 2K11 Preview and New Screenshots (IGN)
Maybe you are not good at OBC. Even in Live, you can get over 60 points in the paint using OBC. Now, how about 2k's case their horrible paint zone defense? I'm not saying that control kills Live 10, but saying it's gonna kill 2k without overhauling their defense logic.
And actually when 2k had OBC like Live 10? 2k7? 2k8 2k9? 2k10? No. Maybe 2k5 or 2k6? I'm not sure, too old to remember.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Preview and New Screenshots (IGN)
One thing that I like about the physics-based aspects of NBA 2k11 is that there will be no more online players who can play off the animations all game long.
I just got dominated twice by two different guys who were able to blow me out and not allow me to score in the 2 quarter. I have never been shut out in any quarter before today, but it looks like some people have perfected it.
That is really frustrating and it is not as realistic as I would have hoped for this year. I'm fed up with playing NBA 2k10 online this year and it's about to get a trade.
The NBA 2k11 team should be able to clear up a lot of problems with this series this year.Comment

What is OBC then? If you're talking about switching to another player off of the ball you can do that in 2K10.

Me fail...
Had to read back to see what the guy is talking about. Maybe his left bumper or L1 button was broken and he no idea it was in the game. Off ball play could have been better but it was there, AI logic hindered it in my opinion.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Preview and New Screenshots (IGN)
IGN review said, "Total Control Passing, a feature that made its debut in NBA Live 10, is being brought to NBA 2K11. blah blah..."
Dual player Control in 2k10 is not Off Ball Control in Live 10. The latter is much better control system. If you become good at the control. you dominate the game.
That's why I said adding live 10' control system is gonna kill or might be killing the gameplay, cause 2k have poor defense logic, especially for paint zone.
If you want to understand me, just try Live 10. You will understand why last year Mike Wang showed up in a video where he was kind of proud of explaining this special control.Comment

I read in the Live forums that Off Ball Control in Live 10 are exploitable in that you can score everytime down court. Is this true?Comment

Actually they both had their advantages and disadvantages...though Lives is alot more fluid. Thing about Lives is... its smooth and all, but you can get a wide open jumpshot 90% of the time ....The only thing that saves it from being abused in that way is Lives shooting logic...where youll just miss shots no matter what the situation is.
It can also be used as a paint exploit if your good enough at it...If someone is, all you can hope for is to suck the cutter in that contact animation. All we can hope for is that.....having dabbled in both games, Wang can come uo with a system that works and is least exploitable as possible...Comment
