Re: Do you ever hope you lose?

I feel the same way. I'm Indiana in my dynasty and was just playing Michigan at home on default AA. They should of won the game but the cpu just can't complete drives on AA. Michigan got the ball inside the 10 yard line 5 times but couldn't get a touchdown they ended up kicking 5 fg's. I won 20-15. I shouldn't of won that game and was hoping they would score.

I think default AA is too easy. Right now I'm using default heisman and losing @ Ohio State 21-7 in the 2nd quarter lol.

I'm not a big fan of using sliders and tweaking them all the time, it tends to overwhelm me and takes the fun out of the games.

I also let the cpu pick my plays and use the no switch rule on defense.

I just hope the cpu doesn't "cheat" on heisman too much, because this is going to be the only difficulty that gives me a challenge and the cpu can actually get in the endzone.

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?

I play on heisman, and I'm 51 - 2 after 3 years with Georgia in my offline dynasty. in my first year my first and only loss was to South Carolina, but 5 of my wins were in OT.

2nd year I went undefeated. The third year I lost game 5 or 6 at home to then unranked tennessee, I was #1. I went on to win the bcs game.

However, I have never been able to land the top recruiting class.

How could you be 51-2 after 3 years? The most games a team would play is 14 in a year

I've lost to a couple of AI teams in the online dynasty I'm in on default All-American. It's a rather interesting development.

Before that, I think the last time I lost to the computer was in NCAA 06, when I was Florida and somehow lost to FAU, lol.

I am using sliders and I am at the point where if I don't bring my A game every time I will get my feelings hurt. ( This afternoon my team got waxed at the swamp 45 - 24). So if/when I get to the point that I have an undefeated season i will enjoy it because I know I would have earned it and not the CPU being weak.

              I meant 41 - 2, I had a 31 game streak at one point.

I'm 6-3 with Michigan so far. I love my sliders. I beaet a ranked Iowa team, got smashed by Penn State 42-10, and then upset by Illinois. Every game is a challenge.

I hear ya...I'm 6-0 with Tennessee and I keep waiting for a loss..I play on AA with playmakers varsity sliders with a few tweak to help the cpu. I'm not blowing teams out I beat The Ducks by 33-14, Georgia 33-28, bama in OT 27-20 and just beat Aubrun 41-33..
I thinking of tweaking alittle more...I have no outstanding stats, jsut been bale to capitalize on turnovers

                  what do yall think?

You are obviously a good player and it seems your sliders are too easy for what is realistic. I don't think there is any way Tenn is beating all four of those teams. In fact, the Vols would be lucky to split.

But if you'd rather have it set to win every game, that's cool too.

So I ended up beating Texas 26-21 even though UT outgained me 369-296. I returned a GG int for a TD and GG also threw an int inside the NU 5 yard line. Then UT got a holding call in the endzone to give me a safety. Another case of the CPU choking.

But to make matters better, I lost to OK State the next week, 27-24. I'm actually happy about that.

I have posted already in here, but I am 2-2 with Miami in my OD and 2-3 with Buffalo in another. Using my sliders. If I start to slack it will show. I was up 28-7 on Clemson and relaxed and next thing I know they were 2 points away from a tie game in the 4th.

This is why I only sim games in my offline dynasties. If I do play a game, I always quit late in the 4th quarter and then sim the game. For me, this is really the only way to get the most out of my dynasties.

This is why I play out several "practice" dynasties before I start my "official dynasty. I want to get those sliders and settings right.

While I haven't bought this year's game yet, (don't know if I will), but it always seems that when I'm into my official dynasty, it's always the underdog that derails my season, as I usually play as a conference or national title contender.

I rarely audible and I do NOT exploit the game. Yea I could pump fake every time in hopes somebody bites, but I don't..etc.

I'm 4-0 with Arizona so far and yes, I did beat Iowa 28-10 but it was in Arizona. I then got by Cal 41-31 after they had a 21-3 lead.

All I know is that I do try and win every game by playing honest football and not using exploits. With Arizona I hope that I have made the sliders challenging enough so the CPU can beat me a few games. If I go undefeated I can live with me playing really well and getting some lucky breaks.
I'm pretty sure Iowa is underrated in this game. No way they lose at Arizona this year.

Re: Do you ever hope you lose?

My first year as Purdue I went 10-3. My three loses were by 1, 3, and 7. Had chances to win them all.

On the other hand, I had a ton of wins that were by less than a TD where my offense would either score late to give me the win or my defense would make a play in the 4th to preserve the win. I think I might have had maybe one blowout in the Big Ten against Northwestern and of course my OOC games against Toledo and an FCS team.

I think sometimes it's because when I'm facing a tough opponent, I go into ultra-conservative mode and try to control the ball while keeping the opposing offense off the field. I almost beat Wisconsin playing tough defense and running the football. When I'm able to run the ball, it makes playing defense that much easier, and slows the game down. I think Wisconsin had something like 40 plays heading into the 4th quarter. I was down 7-6 and scored early to go up 13-7. Their only TD to that point was a simple streak route in 1 on 1 coverage where Nick Toon caught it, beasted on my overmatched CB, and took it in.

Of course I fumbled that game away to lose but you get my point.

Sometimes when I find myself hoping to lose I pause the game and think about the games I've had to make sure the sliders I use are fair for both sides. I love losing when the CPU outplays me when they should but hate losing because the game's programming causes it. Sometimes it is really hard to discern between the two.
