one of the first things I noticed in the clip was the cup presentation.... No hat.

Same for Toews.... like he can't toe kick and jump over guys with ease...

The new hitting physics scare me. It almost seems like every hit's going to be a huge hit, you know to the point where every guy on the ice would be in a body cast by the end of the game.

Speaking of online exploitation, any word on how long your "custom celebration" can be? I can see this turning out to be another pause glitch deal.

Speaking of online exploitation, any word on how long your "custom celebration" can be? I can see this turning out to be another pause glitch deal.

You have a 2 second time frame in which to activate the goal celebrations after you score, and I believe 4 seconds to do what you wish.

The hitting physics will be fine. There have been plenty of vids regarding it and I'm sure you can rest easy with the hitting...

now the flipping the puck in the air and jumping over people does looks suspect and is a legitimate cause for concern.

It sounds like they did it to prevent online gamers from constantly diving on the ice to force turnovers.

That can be overcome by enforcing a much higher risk-reward system for diving and sweep checking.
And it should be mirrored greatly to the players defensive skills. If it's low, diving should take an eternity to get down, and then it should result in penalties much more than forcing a turnover.

Yup...this sort of move should be really tough to pull off if it's to be realistically implemented.

Yeah I didn't like the idea of allowing something that may just as easily become cheesed and unrealistic to counter the same thing. One of those "two wrongs don't make a right" things.

And for the record I thought the diving was a pretty good risk-or-reward system already, I mean if you miss you do take yourself pretty much out of the play completely. What needed tweaked more in my opinion was the "pass block" (L1 PS3) which is usually worthless.

I don't play on-line. So I don't have to concern myself with moves that my possibly be abused. But I do have faith in the dev team to do what they can not to add easily abused moves.

Maybe I'm naive, but I believe these guys get it, on what NHL gamers want. But then again, I do understand that there's always going to be those that live just to abuse what they can in order to win. I almost feel sorry for people like that.
