Glad to see the Backbreaker devs think this is important...it's been wrong in Madden for years and they don't care to fix it (even though they're the officially-licensed game). I even sent e-mails to Tiburon back in the day and posted on message boards over at EA trying to explain this...hopefully Backbreaker gets it right.

      Online Gameplay

      • Reduced online lag slightly
Built in a new protection system against people hacking the game to create a “super team” and taking it online
      • Removed the Cancel Stats Posting option as reported by the forum. People were abusing this to avoid losses showing up in their profile
      • Fixed a number of other stat posting related issues

As long as the patch does not stop us from playing our own NFL teams offline with adjusted ratings I'm fine with this. The fact they specifically mention the online part make me hope this is the case.

They cant stop us from playing offline. Worst case scenario, you disconect your 360 or PS3 from internet.

I think they are mainly trying to go after the people who would take a team and set every position at 255 Strength Speed Focus and Agility.

Those are the cheesers they are trying to stop with that.

Ok this make no sense. How can a team that small improve a game that much compared to other far bigger titles. I will believe this when I see it but the BB devs have given me no reason not to believe them so far. This really gives me so much hope for BB2.

I believe the reason is because of the Euphoria engine they can do all of this. There arent as many animations like other football titles, thus letting them assess the problem quickly and fixing it without having to program another new type of animation.

              Just my hunch though.

I wouldn't see how this would affect using the editor in offline play.

                Nobody should've been using ramped-up teams online anyway,so that's a good thing.

I'm an off line player so it will not affect me.

this patch is evidence of NM and 505's desire to make a quality product,
not just motivated to fill it's coffers and satisfy shareholders.

I'm just amazed by how much they've done.

They care about their product and what consumers think - fantastic!

I really hope they add more camera options for offline gameplay (zoomed out or customisable) in BB2.

Ok. I'm gonna listen to all of you that say this game deserves the chance it gets specially with this huge patch they are releasing. I just ordered mine from BestBuy.com and with my $15 reward certificate, I only had to pay $15.74! Yeah baby! The PS3 version for some reason is $39.99 but the 360 version is only $29.99.

Anyway, I enjoyed the demo but I only had room for 2 football games which was already reserved for NCAA 11 which I love and Madden 11 which I'm also growing to love the more I play the demo. But for $15, I can't go wrong. Looking forward to the game, the patch, and downloading the NFL rosters.

Innovation is NaturalMotion. Haha. This patch will serve up a good old fashioned a$$ whippin all game developers, not just EA Sports.

Much respect to NaturalMotion and company!

People can say what they want to about Backbreaker, good or bad. At the end of the day, Backbreaker's gameplay will be ruler and all the new additions will make this feel like a new game.

It shows that the dedication and integrity at NatualMotion is top-notch.This should go a long way to us avid sports gamers who had to put up with alot of empty promises and unfixed problems in many games.

I really like the new "gather" mechanic. Where whoever catches the ball has a period of time to gather the ball. If a player has a high focus rating it takes that player less time to make the catch. But, if the defender hits the receiver before that time it results in a drop. That is so realistic.

^^^^^ some gamers will never leave what they feel so much comfort in......no matter the empty promises or unfixed issues they will always go back.....this patch can turn this game from an 5 to a 8.5 they still will find a issue with the game.....the camra, to hard to pass, to hard to run.......the list will go on
