SOunds like the Tuner will be delivered this week, but that the patch itself won't drop until either the day Madden is released or just after. FRom what EA has said, it was a "Couple of weeks," which dated it around mid-August, and frankly, I think that they're more likely to release a patch after Madden's release than before. There's been some significant blowback on Madden from the community, what with it seeming like a "light" upgrade, the animosity towards the strategy pad, and more, and NCAA has generally received great praise, with the exception of the dynasty glitches and the few bugs that need patching... So, if they dropped it BEFORE MAdden it could steal some Madden sales away from people who decided NCAA is the game for them... while dropping it after Madden will keep those impulse buys up, especially with anybody upset with the NCAA bugs.

Just speculation, obviously, but it seems like it'd make more sense to hold release till after Madden drops.

I think that what determines this is what level NCAA/Madden try not to steal each other's thunder. I mean they're made by the same companies , but they ARE competing products for any consumer who only chooses to buy one title

Im sure this has been asked but this thread is quite long. Did they say if they are going to be able to patch to work with existing (especially online) dynasties?

The gameplay itself has taken a big step forward. If dynasty was something tacked on I don't think people would be complaining since it's obvious that 99.9% of the developers' time was spent on improving the gameplay. However this is 2010 and there is no reason why something as simple as progression should not be working. If I wasn't getting Madden from Amazon for $29.19 that preorder would've been cancelled weeks ago.
Totally have to disagree with the first part of your post. Bout the constructive criticism thing.. If you read the blog about the patch and tuners, you saw a shout out to one of the posters here on OS, ODOGG. So that lets me know that EA does visit these sites to gather feed back, so why not make that feedback informational and useful, instead of people just complaining and complaining, bashing EA, but without any real evidence of what they do, and what they spend their time doing. I see it as a move to make OS a more reliable and credible place in the gaming world. If you've ever been to the UFC Undisputed official forums by THQ, you'd understand what I'm talking about. With that said...

Here's to hoping EA doesn't overdo the recruiting to where you have too many guys progressing too much, ruining things in another way

I hope the tuner update comes out soon. The progression issue ruined my dynasty so I have not played NCAA for about a week.

I can guarantee that is not EA's stance, and with all the legit critisicm that gets modded here, this is the real stuff that should be addressed. People pay hard earned cash money for these games and have a right to get upset when things aren't as they should be or as advertised.

Enough people stopped buying College basketball games and where did that get us? Enough people stopped buying nascar when EA couldn't get it right and where did that get us? Keep gobbling up everything thats fed to you, and when enough people stop buying, you'll be sorry.

With that said, progression issues aside, this years game is the best in a really long time.

Now since these minor progression/recruit tweaks can be done with tuning, I'm not anticipating this issue to become a major liability since it could be fixed relatively quickly, but I certainly hope they're able to tune the recruiting correctly this FIRST time with this upcoming tuning(and if they minimally touch progression).

We all remember last year in Madden in their final patch, they tweaked the franchise simmed stats, attempting to fix some of the issues with the simmed stats, and instead, it got broken to the point the franchise couldn't be played.

I've got tremendous faith in these guys though. Hopefully they could come out with something tomorrow when I wake up since I'm dying to move my dynasty from the bowl game week.

Make sure and read the TOS.

Nothing wrong with speaking out, but doing so respectfully and constuctively goes a long way here. Without doing that, a poster's stay here is going to be pretty short.

                          People just LOVE to complain.

EA has already released a pretty detailed blog on the patch. They've talked about the progression and recruiting issue. Tuner sets should hopefully fix the problem. Guess what guys, they are aware of the problem... I am sure they are putting some hours in on trying to fix it. This is the game era that we're in. Games are not perfect right out of the box. We all wish they were, but that's not reality. Games need patches... Customer feedback is a must to ensure these patches contain fixes to the game.

EA is listening... It would be nice if people would give them a break and allow them to fix the problems rather than just rehashing the same stuff over and over again. I'm all for free speech and whatnot but enough is enough. It's pretty apparent that EA visits forums to look for feedback for their games. It makes me cringe to read some of the comments here. This is why developers don't want to actually come here and communicate with us directly... It's always met with some kind of anger because the game was not tailor made just for you.

I believe the developers love NCAA just like we do and they want the best product possible... Saying things like the testing team should be "canned" adds nothing.

Read the blog again if it makes you feel better... EA is listening and they are working on the fixes.

I played quite a few seasons of madden after the final patch was released.

It does get annoying hearing people rehash the same things over and over, but at the same time you have a choice on which threads and posts you read. The people at EA who visit this board have the same choice. I'm sure they're mature enough to realize what's helpful and what isn't. They should take comments like "the whole testing team should be canned" as motivation to do a better job testing the game next year. Some of the stuff that slips through (ex: some teams' schedules not being accurate) is inexcusable.

I'm not going to fault someone for venting their frustration unless it gets to a point where they're just blindly insulting people or something. If I get tired of reading their posts, I'll just skip them instead of complaining about people complaining.
