so basically physics engine = no more sucking players in to an animation..... I don't think anyone could hate that lol.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Blog: Real Physics
The bolded is just not true.
I'm all for control and I think skill-based shooting is a huge step in the right direction. Yes, I think the user's skill should play a big part in the player's success/failure.
But don't say that generic-based dribbling, shooting, blocking mechanics is sufficient enough for a next-gen game because it's not.
There is a huge difference between everyone shooting fadeaways, running or handling the ball the same way versus individualism and uniquesness. I barely see any sig moves in Live 10. I guess that is just me. So be it.NBAComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Blog: Real Physics
I mean I've enough read previews/ hands ons, talked to the developers, heard from community guys and seen videos. I've seen enough to know that the control is better than they're past NBA lives, and just think about the inputs you have to put in on the controls to do a shot. I mean after playing a ton of super street fighter i can tell you than doing scoops (half circles) and hooks (U shaped moves) on the controller starts to become second nature after a while.
I actually thought of what it would be like to use the controls with a controller in hand and it actually is pretty intuitive if u ask me. Your not jut pushing left for a left hand layup, your scooping it upwards as if your really lifting his hand. All the moves makes sense in a basketball manner, and its not like your just doing some crazy motions to pull off moves.
Your right I haven't played the game, but I've played NHL and I know where good control can take a game.Last edited by NoTiCe_O; 08-03-2010, 01:05 PM.Twitter - @OtistheOriginalComment

Wow, it seems as if they are using the Backbreaker physics engine. If they pull it off and it comes off as not scripted nor animated, then 2k may be in trouble.
Of course, EA's hype machine always has me thinking that 2k is in trouble. Then the games actually launch, you can play them and the champ (2k) always comes through. When the game is on the line, winners want the ball.Comment

The post game was a real problem for me, when posting up moves were very limited and most times the move I was trying to complete didn't happen, and on a negative it seemed like a dunk-fest in the paint (i.e Dwight Howard) with the new rebuild and added physics new moves should be a priority in bringing the post game back to EA Basketball.Comment

In the interview they said its really on you to decide what post moves you string together, and how you string em together, nothing is canned. So it looks like the post game got an overhaul. And the way you post up i determined on your style of play.
I already stated that when you see me online I'm a be a killer in the post so all PS3 players get readyTwitter - @OtistheOriginalComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Blog: Real Physics
I def think they've brought the post game back. I've seen videos of some of the post game. I know that since there's no more two players animations your never trapped in any post animation. So you can do shoulder fakes, hooks, dropsteps, spins, up and unders, fadeaways, fades to either side, pump fakes, and the person has to react, there is no given animation on the defensive side. And with physics you can push your body weight onto a player, and the same for the defensive side. Plus with the controls you choose which side and hand to finish with
