Hey all, I will be sending along some Ultimate Team questions to the developers. So if you guys have questions about the mode, ask them here.

How do you buy the card packs? Is it with points earned during the league or do you have to buy it from somewhere(like playstation store).


Is this an online league or a user controlled thing against the computer?

(this doesn't relate to the topic, but can you send other questions not just regarding this to the developers? ex-the e3 topic)

Can we play people from our friends list with our teams? Can we set up leagues or tourneys that we can play with our friends using our Ultimate Teams?

Aside from contracts- which you can renew, does the player really have a career length that cannot be altered? I hate to develop my player into a superstar and then just lose him. And if players do "retire" will his career length reset if I put him up for auction? Kinda tough to get someone to buy a player with only 2 games left in his career.

Do the downloadable roster updates tie into the card system?

What i mean is, will the cards update their info during roster update under the following changes?:
- A player gets called up from the AHL to the NHL (does his league icon and team change)
- A player gets traded from one NHL team to another (does his team icon change)
- A player signs into the AHL and his player is created into the latest roster update (is a card automatically created and put into circulation?)
- A player's ratings are changed in the latest roster update (does the players card ratings automation update to reflect these changes?)

Or are the cards locked into their launch date settings until they update the feature for NHL12?

EDIT: Ok scrap my original question this one is more important to me.

Will there be "private" online dynasties where you could be in a private league only friends and/or certain people could join?

You're missing my point. If a use "cards" to build a player up and then want to sell him on the auction block and he's only got 1 game left in his career then it makes the whole auction block pretty worthless.

If Fifa UT I've bought players who only had 1 game remaining on contract, no big deal I slap a contract card onto him.

No problem with Stamkos having a 90 game career and Lidstrom having a 30 game career. But their careers should both reset at auction- other wise a 1 career game remaining Stamkos is worthless and a 10 career games remaining Lidstrom would be the better buy.

Any chance of getting legendary players like in FIFA UT?

Being able to play with a prime Forsberg, Gretzky, Super Mario, Roy, even Orr and the Rocket, etc would be great

Just a couple of questions:

1. Is there anything in place to keep 2 people from making a ridiculous 1 sided trade?

2. Do playoff games count against the player's contract? I could see a situation where I have a player with only one game left going into the playoffs...would seem dumb to me that he wouldn't be able to play in the playoffs...

Just a couple of questions:

You'll probably have to slap a contract card on him.

And there is nothing to stop people from trading how they wish. You can auction a player to the highest bidder or have a "buy now" price on him.

Are transactions frozen for your team during the playoffs in any way? or can i just load up on purchases before the championship (ignoring the salary cap for second) ?

My question is similar to ones posted above, is there any way to play the regular season/playoff modes in a "private" dynasty, or must it be with the full community?

that wouldnt work because people would just swap players with friends and they would never lose them because they could just give them to someoone else and they would reset.
