Too many big plays makes this years Madden easy?

I've played the Jets vs. Colts Madden demo and I've played about a dozen games. After getting used to the controls and how the players control, I have to say that this game lets the player exploit the big play way too easily based on my experience. On All-Madden mode I was able to go 17-20 for 496 yrds 7 tds and 1 int (screen) with Mark Sanchez on a variation of deep passes, screens and slants. I do comend the developers for opening it up for the player on go routes and impressive downfeild blocking. Perhaps it was the plethora of speed on the Jets receiving core or the Colt's liberal blitzing. Even Peyton Manning and the Colts torched Revis and Co. for over 400 yrds and 42 pts. The NFL is certainly evolving into a pass first league but I feel like the ability to for receivers to get seperation (especially off the jam) is a bit overdone. Holmes and Edwards were able to get about 10 yrds of seperation off the jam. I do like how well WR screens work and locomotion in the open feild is lethal with an agile player (broke Bob Sanders' ankles with Holmes for a TD). I think this may be fixed in the future but I miss the challenge the All-Madden provided.

Try playing on normal speed on all madden i think it makes the game more difficult, I'm assuming you are playing on slow because that is the default setting. On slow speed you have much more time to throw so passing is much easier.

You must be alot better me at madden 11 demo then me. When I play on all pro settings on the Demo the AI still puts up a fight. I've lost to the AI on all pro settings quite a few times since playing the demo.Just playin on all pro settings to me is a challenge some what. I dare not touch the all madden settings. The AI might just kill me altogther. LOL

I play the demo with normal speed, no accelerated clock and conventional play-calling.

I have played a few games of the real version online. I have found Miles Austin to be nearly unstoppable. I have had over 200 yards with him in every game. The coverage by DBs is broken.

Slider adjustments should solve all of this.

If you would notice when you are playing the demo. Even if the accelerated is turned off. It still has a effect on the play clock still. I don't know why. But I hope that ain't a problem in the final version.

Re: Too many big plays makes this years Madden easy?

10 yards seperation happens on poor CB's. i do not see the same thing happening on Good to great CB's. And it happenes on playaction.

Wed have to see the play. And wed have to know the play calling. And rather or not they set up the pass with the run, and so on....

I have burned a few guys, but they were in Cover 2. I ahve yet to see an Elite CB burned 10 yards in man coverage.

WARNING: You will give up big plays if you try to strip the WR every time they make a catch. Same with the HB.

I was wondering why my online opponent was brekaing so many tackles, then i decided to stop holding "L" and tackle with "Square". problem solved.

Re: Too many big plays makes this years Madden easy?

Big plays definitely happen, and the deep ball is a true weapon this year because....

                    1. The WR's get great seperation if you press and they miss their jam. Blitzing 2 or 3 guys and pressing your DB's is now a huge risk.

                    2. The CPU DB's don't warp or magically catch up and do miracle swats anymore, so when a DB is beaten now it's a wrap.

I don't like some of the safety play and see too many moments of hesitation and slow reactions to a ball in the air. If the Madden team can tweak that, I think you'd see more challenging secondary play.

The game is true garbage defense. Worst Madden I've ever played. I'm 35 I've played them all and this is by far the worst except for the first 2 on next gen.

I was passing strictly from shotgun and I didn't run the ball more than 10 times total. Holmes and Edwards were getting rediculous separation not only on go routes but also on slants. Perhaps it was just I was just getting lucky with the defensive playcalling or gameplay yet to be ironed out in the demo. The last few games I played have been like this and I hope that the retail version isn't as eager to let me score.

This is the worst Madden you've ever played, except the 2 that were worse?:wink:

...if you're basing that on just the demo , most people in the impressions thread think the retail is faaar better. Don't write off M11 just yet

I dont count the first 2 as madden on next gen. I have the retail copy. There is no defense on this game period. Its 2004 all over again baby!! Online scoring fests. Locomotion does not translate over to online lag very well. The pure fact that we now have to come up with nothing but nano glitch D online in order to stop someone will kill it for most. Even offline the game fails to deliver on fun and nada on the Defense!!
